Hello...does anyone know if the lug nuts from my Carelia wheels will work with Takoba wheels? Thanks...Mark

 

Hello...I feel pretty stupid having asked this question, as it apparently gained no interest. So I took off one of the 'lug nuts' today...to my surprise, it was just a nut that came off and the bolt part is 'attached to the car'. Of course what I discovered was good as I realized it would work with either wheel. I've only had German cars (Audi, BMW & Mercedes) until this XK, and expected the nut/bolt to be as one. Sorry I should have checked this out before opening this post...Mark

 

Not completely a stupid question, some wheel studs have different thread counts and would require different lug nuts. Some lug nuts are flat and others are cone shaped on the end. I'm sure there are other differences as well but that's all I could think of off the top of my head.

 

Just make sure you don't have the crappy two piece lug nuts with the sheet metal covers. They will fail and you should replace them with solid lug nuts.

If you are interested we have pages of lug nut failures on the S Type forum. They are a disaster waiting to happen. Don't let it happen to you when you are along the road somewhere and need to change a tire!
