Queen & Country You make a good case for both colors ...however which one gets your vote

Steve,

I bought the colour I dreaded, black. Now I cant imagine being without it. While the Jaguar may not be many things, one thing it absolutely is- elegant and rich. The black underscores that in a concours de elegance way.

It helps that I am proficient at the art detailing from a decades long passion. There is no colour in the world that is as deep and 3 dimensional as black when polished to perfection. Paint manufacturers say so and convinced me of it.

My take would be Silver during the week and black on special occasions

In black the xk/r looks very elegant . In silver it comes across the more sporty of the two colors either way both colors do suit the lines of the jaguar quite nicely

My first two XKs, were black, 08 with a black top, 12 with ultimate black with a canvas top and caramel interior - it was better looking than the first in my opinion. The new one is Silver with a black top and a deep blue interior. Would be better with a blue top. But, as said before when dirty it looks far better than a dirty black XK. Overall I like the Silver body, black top and blue interior.

Then a gain any XK looks better to me than almost any thing else on the road, particularly whn one dollar weights the Jaguar against the competition.

I voted for black. I LOVE black cars...as long as they belong to someone else. I am too much of a perfectionist to own a black car. I could not personally handle keeping a black car clean to my standard. I have always looked at my fair weather daily driver as being a color that would stay cleanest for the longest period between 4 hour wash/polish sessions. that said, those colors often lack the depth or richness that I most enjoy.

oddly enough and almost by accident, I discovered radiance. wow, it pops in all light. when it's clean it is electric. it takes dust well without looking dusty. I am actually able to go longer between washes and still not be offended or embarrassed about my dirty car

jaguar's Italian racing red (not to be confused w/ rosso corsa) may provide a similar experience?

sorry to take this thread off track but to remind you again...I voted for black.

Radiance Red is a stunning colour, particularly in the XK - it has enough depth to show those gorgeous curves to advantage in a way that lighter colours cannot. Black Jags are always impressive but the British Racing Green that Jaguar has used for some model years has a lot of black in it - in the shade it often looks black; in fact for the first couple of years that I had my XK my wife that it WAS black. Again, the depth of colour (and the Victoria Wax finish) shows those curves and lines - and that is what Jaguar design is all about.

Voted for 'black', but I'm partial to 'radiance'.

I do like black, my mercedes is black as well as the 300. Initially I was looking for a black XK and came across the silver one that I have. I have to admit that all polished up it really shines and with the addition of black wrap in a few places it gives it a more aggressive look while taking away some of the silver. It may not be for everybody, but it works for me.

Sure, but it will have to be tomorrow. Its raining pretty heavy here today. The cost for the wrap was very reasonable $375 (Can). I have had it on for over a year now and it still looks perfect.

The good thing with the deep green is the fact it goes so well with the tan interior

Yes it does go well - it is a stunning combination, in fact.

for SalsaCat83…. here are some pics….. raining outside, very dirty car, and lousy camera phone. Car looks way better in real life. To tie in the black, I started with the lower lip and updated the grille, continued with the black partially over the hood onto the roof then down to the rear spoiler and finally the diffuser. In my opinion, it ties the car the together as opposed to just one part of the car being wrapped. I know its not for everyones taste, but right now it works for me. when Im tired of it I peel it off.

It doesn't look to bad . I would have carried the bonnet wrap over the roof and the boot.

Had considered that but thought it may have been to much.

I find it quite appealing. I think it's well done. I'm liking that rear defuse as well.
Now I'm really gonna wonder what I could do with mine
