Default Mito Corp. Back-up Camera for '07

Found Mito's ad in Autoweek. Their website is Welcome to MITO-Auto.

I think there concept is doable in that it uses a portion of the Mito rear view mirror for the image. I don't think it is electronically feasible to try to use the OEM navigation/audio screen; and this seems to offer a solution.

I contacted Mito asking for an installation manual a month ago. They've not responded. Their local dealer is out of business.

My guess is that Mito powers the camera from the positive lead to the back-up light. But Jaguar's back up light is a pulsing light. If the pulse signal is sent from the dashboard, then you'd have a corresponding flashing on/off camera image. But, if the pulse signal is contained in the back-up light itself, then the power to the back up light would be continuous. Anyone know?

A GVIF converter will allow you to use the nav. screen. See Jaguar GVIF Video Interface - TVandNav2Go

Currently you must have navigation selected; that is the drawback. My next project is to look for a way around this limitation.

The mirror option has been around for many years.... The problem is that the rear view mirror also controls the electrochromatic(sp?) side mirrors as well... If you dont want dimming side mirrors, they should work fine....
