I know I've said it previously, your car, you do what you want with it.

A little tasteful personalization can't be a bad thing, IMHO.

One of the 'modded' XKRs that we have on the forum is GhostriderXKR08, his car always has me drooling, and my cheque book running for cover.

Check him out.

Those wheels are my favorite... every time I find anything like them though, the price tag makes me burst into tears

Do you find you scrape the underside of your car's nose much more now its lowered? (say when coming up to steep changes in road surface such as speedbumps and T junctions on hills).
Even though my car is not lowered, there's still been multiple times/locations where I've scraped its nose on the road.
Its a sickening sound but thankfully so far it apparently hasn't damaged the car other than a few hidden scratches underneath. I would expect with the nose being any lower at all, I'd be continually facing large repair bills.

I heard a scrape a couple of times. To be careful I always go at angles. It's no worse than many of my past cars like Viper, NSX etc.

As is the case in most visual design, you almost always have to choose between form or function. There is no doubt that lowering the car greatly improves the form side if the equation, but it's at the expense of the function side of the equation.

Yep. So far, no damage. It usually is the plastic under and not the painted part of the bumper.

But I liked the slightly higher tone on the S. Mine sounds more deep.
Maybe it is the video but comapring it to other souund clips from Ghostrider and Mike V it didn't sound as aggressive. For example the Milltek Cats thread:

Here you go. Keep in mind this is a cold start so the idle will be high. Making the contrast not as great. But as the idle settles down youl'll get a better idea. Love the crackle pop on overrun!

Looks great. You said before you'd be posting 25 mm drop, but this says 35 mm? Any tire rubbing? And remind me please, is this an XK or XKR? Thanks

Bruce

Sorry Bruce I did a typo...it's 25 mm. I hadn't had my morning cuppa to wake up!
Corrected now

It's an XKR (2007). 20 mm rear spacers, 15 mm spacers front. With a full tank of fuel and passenger, I'm getting some slight rubbing on inside of the rear wheel arch (NOT body). Me alone, no rubbing.
The rear box exhaust has been changed, so I think I lost a little bit of weight there too. So this should be calculated into it too.

Hi Johnny,

Where did you get your lowering springs from?

I got them from Adamesh in the UK.

I've still got the old 15mm drop springs for sale (they where only on the car for 2 months), if anyone interested send me a PM

It's interesting that Ademesh offers a variety of sizes. The only springs that Mina Gallery offers are the equivalent of 30.48mm.

Wonder if these would fit a 2010?

The XKR-S is lowered 10mm stock. 15mm is .59 inches, which would be ok on mine I think. That would be about half of Evoking's lowered amount.

No they won't fit on 5.0 cars, only 2006 - 2008 4.2 cars

A photo with 25mm drop will follow next week (with new exhaust)

Great look, and I miss the beautiful countryside around Brighton. Used to live in Hove down by the water.

Any 11' or 10+ owners that have done spacers? I may do them first as it is looking like we may be embarking on a building project so I may hold off wheels for a bit...
