Default Moisture in Headlights '13 XKR

Is anyone else experiencing moisture in the headlights? If so did you have them replaced? They never did this before and just started a month ago and seems to be getting worse.

This was a major issue on the previous XK8/XKR model which was never resolved throughout the entire ten year production run.

I was delighted to find my XK never gets any moisture in the headlights and we have plenty of rain and damp to test it thoroughly in this country!

Thank you I'll be calling the dealer for warranty replacements. I've noticed this problem on a lot of new cars, a friend has brand new S Class with the same problem.

One the earlier model, it was poor design coupled with a faulty seal between the glass and the headlight shell.

Could be a similar sealing issue on the current model.

I drive with my headlights always on. I consider it a simple safety issue in that it is nice to be seen, and daylight running lights are not bright enough for me.
Whatever your feelings on this, running the headlights does produce a certain amount of heat; and I have never, ever had any condensation problems not only with my '07 XK but also any other car I've owned.

From my experience in the states, this problem is NOT fixed.

Translation: "This happens all the time and we can not fix it. If we were to fix it and replace this would be happening every 3-4 months. Jaguar does not have the resources to take such a hit... you understand. You are going to have to live with it! Good Luck making your headlights look good in 20 years from all the streaking. When it gets bad enough, buy another jag!".

He told me its states in the owners manual that its normal. If its normal why hasn't it done it since day one? It just started! I'm not to happy about this at all.

hahahaha. The condensation usually evaporates quick enough... leaving a film and streaking that you can NOT wash off. Holy crap it pisses me off!!!

This is all I received, and I asked for more detail as this is BS. It looks like I have un wiped windex in my headlight.

According to Jaguar, moisture inside the headlight will occur but it does not affect the operation of the lights working. You could reference your user manual and it will state that this is something that happens but does not interrupt with the internal mechanism of the headlight.. Unfortunately I cannot order a headlight because of moisture in it.

So Jag has to research it and they will call me back Monday. So foggy headlights are standard on these cars?

I think the reference referred to is on page 31 of my 2013my XK Owners Handbook.

"Headlamps - Condensation"

"In certain circumstances, misting may occur on the inside of a lamp lens. This is caused by natural changes in environment conditions. This misting is not detrimental to lamp performance and will clear during normal usage"
