@Cee Jay ,. thanks. I'll try the canned air and see what that does. I'm not sure I'm techie enough to remove the dash pieces... Is the technical manual you refer to posted in the forum somewhere? I only have the owners manual; not the technical one.

Cheers,

How did you determine it was the navigation draining your battery?

As I wrote in the initial post, there is a constant hum from the navi can, as if the board was still rotating and it would not slide out.

I have never heard mine , I don't believe I have ever used my navi though. I do sometimes have a parasitic battery drain, no idea from where.

Default Disconnecting Navigation Unit

I will be installing a Mr12volt unit to update my head unit to gain Android Auto. I'll like to disconnect the navigation unit and power it down. No need to have the thing spinning away when itis not going to be used. In this thread I copied 2 pictures of the navigation unit a back and front view. Can someone please let me know what cables should be unplugged so no codes are thrown. I don't see the fiber cable in the pictures to install the loop. Please indicate where this can be found.

The fiber cables plug into that black socket in the middle of the nav unit in the bottom picture. The cables look like the ones with the green tape in the middle of the top unit in the first picture.
