Having had a 2008 xk, and now having 2012 xk - both verts; I can tell you that in mho the 2010 and later jags are a far different and better animal (pun intended) than the 2007 -2009 cars. the 12 is much tighter all around, has a 5.0 engine and dynamic drive option. If it were me, I think I would wait and watch the pricing on the 2010+ cars and then drive both and decide from there. On second though go drive both now. If you do, I bet you decide to wait for and get a 2010+.

It is easy for these premium cars to have mulitple owners or users due to leases.

Many people want to drive these cars, but ultimately can't afford to buy them. The alternative is a lease program. My 2009 XKR with ultra low mileage had 2 lease owners on the car over a four year period. This is not unusual. 2 yr lease agreements are very popular. My Carfax report verifed the mileage driven under each lease, and also showed all maintenance records at West Palm Beach Jaguar in West Palm Beach Florida.

Due diligence is absolutely necessary when buying these cars. I actually tracked down the Jaguar tech writer (Allen) who serviced the car on a regular basis to verify the CarFax records. Do your homework and don't let multiple owners or leases deter a possible purchase.

When selling your car, if you have good documentation of the cars history, you should have no problem selling it. Of course the condition of the vehicle at the time of sale is of paramount importance.
