Default New liquid silver XK owner from UK checking in.

Its curtious to check in so hi
I have moved from the Mercedes CL55 over to a 2008 Jaguar XK Coupe in liquid silver as my every day car. So far so good i like it more every day, my ex CL55 was a great car for two years until the crappy ABC suspension started to play up and then i ended up hating the dam thing So it was either a Maserati or an XK, the XK won on the basis that i already run a couple of temperamental Italians as weekend toys.....bloody italiand
I have read every thread on here over the weeks before buying my first jaguar, i like to know the ins and outs of all my cars. Hope to contrabute and get to know the XK better.
So hey

Congrats and welcome!

My buddy has a 2005 CL55 AMG, been pretty good for the last 7 years for him. The suspension gave him fits several years ago which cost a good penny to repair. Car drove real weird when it was not working right, all cockeyed.

Welcome aboard. Hey Fspider, being Italian, all I can say is what kind of a car would it be if it were not temperamental…. boring.

Please clear up some confusion for me about your car, as pictured.
You said it was an XK, and the front fogs lights say 'XK', but those hood (bonnet) vents scream 'XKR'. So what you got under the hood/bonnet anyway?

Certainly, the non supercharged vents were put in along with Adamesh top and bottom steel grills.
I wanted the look without keeping the supercharger embossing.

Thanks for clearing that up!
So, like me, there are some design elements of the XKR that you'd like to see on your XK. I figure as long as I don't change the badging on the car, I don't feel like a 'poser', and drive something that I love to look at (although the wife does get jealous sometimes ).

Yeah who does not like the vents and grills on the xk's.
EDIT. By the way the XKR 20in wheels came with the car when i bought it to.

Well... Not a fan of the XKR grills, but I like the hood/bonnet vents.
I don't think the 20" Senta's were restricted to the XKR, they were just a $5000 option. I too like them, and just picked up a set on eBay.

Welcome aboard!

I went from a 2007 Benz (E550) to my 2012 XKR and haven't looked back. The E550 was the ultimate sleeper car with a surprising amount of V8 power, but the XKR took that to a whole new level. The CL55 is obviously well above the E550, but I suspect you will experience a similar feeling of having stepped up every time you walk up to the XK. (On looks alone. lol)

Enjoy the ride!

Very nice. I too love the vents (my wife calls them nostrils ) I wish my XK had them.
