Default New Owner - 2 questions

1. How, when, where to inspect the convertible top hydraulic fluid and what kind of fluid does it use?

2. Battery location, I know it's in the trunk some place but for the life of me I can't find it? Please be gentle on this new owner

Thanks

Tom

Default Battery location

The battery is located in the trunk under the rug.

Tom, The battery is right behind the back seat, forward of the spare tire.

Coupe: To gain access to the battery,
remove the luggage compartment
forward trim panel by removing the four
retaining screws.

Convertible: To gain access to the
battery, remove the luggage separator,
see page 158, and the luggage
compartment forward trim panel as for
coupe.

Another newbie.

OK, I figured out how to get to the battery and it appears to the either the original or if it's newer a direct OEM.

So now my question is aside from using a Jaguar OEM battery what other battery can I use. Hard to believe but Sears shows a DieHard battery for the 08 XK.
