Good morning, little introduction. Bought my first Jaguar in October 2019, 2012 XKR Convertible, approx 60000 miles, and couldn’t be happier. Wife decided to take it out for a drive, her first time driving it, as we had a beautiful weekend in January. She came home and said...smoke was coming from the hood vents. Smoke no, sweet smelling steam, yes. Expansion tank was low, but no warning light. Checked the forums and found a pic and post of the same issue. I am by no means a mechanic and I applaud all who are, but found a crack in the expansion hose by the first hose clip. Went to Carid and had one shipped. Removal was easy, as it broke in several pieces in my hands. Needed a dental pick to remove the broken nipple and o-ring from the upper intake. New hose fit perfectly and after filling up expansion tank, no issues. I was advised to “burp” the system. Can some one please advise on this procedure?
Thanks and look forward to reading and posting more.

Welcome to the forums Brian,

As you have come directly here to the XK/XKR model forum instead of the more usual procedure of first posting in New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum, there's no need for a link from me.

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to amend these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy your XKR and the forums.

Graham
