Although what you have done to your ride is not to my taste; you have done it very well for what it is and I find this thread fascinating. Nice job.

+1 to what Ralph said above. Not for me but impressive nonetheless.

While I admire your ability and really congratulate you on completing your project, I have to say that the first impression I had while watching your video, was that your GPS f'ed up, and sent you through an active paintball park during war games, and this is how you came out the other side.

End result is a great piece of custom work.

The sidewall colors and lettering really tie in with everything in a great match.

It makes me think of a modernized JGTC.

How long does Mina Gallery usually take to get a product shipped? I ordered carbon mirror covers May 23rd and still waiting. I emailed them and they eventually got back to me telling me they will..... get back to me about it, but never did. Luckily I have patience and I know they are the only ones making these covers so I got no choice but to wait. Also does anyone on here have Mina carbon mirror covers and have pics? I searched through pages and pages of photos and couldnt find any.

And not much for picture updates except I never realized how large our cars are until I parked it next to a co-workers Scion FR-S.

Especially with your mods....it's really quite big! I don't have the Mina mirror covers but have purchase from them a couple times and yes, they are not the fastest in responding much less getting the item to you. Perhaps my situation may be different in that I was not buying catalog items so that may have been cause for delay to me. I hope they show up soon for you though and turn out to be exactly what you want.

Yes, I have a coworker who has one as well. Told him when it grows up he can drive a real one like I do. He bought his new and is peeved that he can buy a used one with less miles and in better shape than what he owns on his note. That they are woefully under powered is just salt in his wounds.

Call Kris at (818) 342-0273. He tends to be slow on the uptake, but once you get his attention he is very good and quite accommodating. I was there the other day and got new bonnet vents from him. I will be posting pictures in the next few days. If I had known you were waiting for the mirror shells I would have said something to him.

I see you took the wrap off the headlight. I think that looks better.

And the crooked license plate still bugs me.

Still, an impressive eye-catching look.

I am also very glad that the motor is OK. That would have been a crime if you couldn't drive it after all that work.

He actually got new headlights - the wrap was mostly to cover the poor state of the originals.

There was a guy I knew who made a custom tailgate for his custom truck which had the license plate frenched into the gate at an angle. He did a really good job on it and it looked great...... and the fourth day he drove the truck he got a Fix-It Ticket because his plate was not parallel to the ground. Boy was he mad.

A few updates..

1.Got a window tint ticket which is no surprise but the state trooper said I had no front plate. I then told him actually I do go look, and they after he seen the plate he began to say its "not in its factory location". At this point I said "Your lucky I even have a plate on there because there is no factory location, I was being nice and installed the plate using my tow hook location.

2. I ordered a set of clinched hood vents. I figured I hacked the fenders up why not hack the hood up. And besides they will actually be functional and help the engine remove heat as my engine gets HOT compared to all other vehicles Ive owned in the past. Below I will post a picture of the vents being installed by a youtuber on his car. They are large but look pretty cool, at least match the look I am going for with my car and a GT3 racer look.

3. This past weekend I made a decal kit for my rims, just to add a little color for fun to the wheels. I will post of picture of them below as well.

4. I will be installing my new brakes and rotors (FINALLY!) this weekend, anyone know what size tools I will need?

5. Minagallery carbon mirrors never came. Its been almost 2 months. Finally today he got back to me and was honest that they just arent fitting correctly and their molds got screwed up over time. So I am just going to get a refund. Bummer as now I dont know where I will find some carbon mirrors. Maybe I will just have them hydro dipped carbon.

6. I have been to 3 car shows and so far wont 3 trophies and a plaque. Best of show, best import and a few others I cant remember. Personally I dont like car shows as I hate standing around all day in the heat. I like show and shines or coffee and car meetups where you can hang out for however long, talk, no awards and then just leave whenever. But my daughter loves the trophies so I guess Ill keep going to the shows to make her happy.. lol

7. I got invited to be part of the Crown Rally block party this month on the 20th in downtown Cedar Rapids, IA. I will be parked with a ton of exotic cars including a few jaguars. They really liked my build and want me to be a part of it, very cool!! I am hoping next year they will let me be part of the actual Rally as that has been a dream of mine for years.

I think the wheels look pretty cool. Hard not to go over the top on this build. Let me rephrase that, hard to find 'over the top' on this build.

This past weekend was a blast, the Crown Rally was epic and the people that were part of it were really friendly. Next year I will for sure be part of it. My friend Dan Henderson who is also on this forum came wth as both of us drove the jags to the Crown Rally block party and it couldnt have turned out better.. but it didnt end so well. Dans Jag went into limp mode on the way home, missfire on cylinder 7 and we cannot figure out why. Not sure if he posted help or not yet on here, but yeah that was what our Saturday evening consisted of, figuring out the issue. Here is a pic of Dan in his trunk putting in the new battery as our wifes drank beer in the parking lot of Target. (and no he did not buy the battery from target).

Here are some pics of the Jags together.

Here are some other pics taken of my car and also my new decals for the Retro Rally. A friend of mine and I are trying to start a Rally that will raise money to put video game systems into childrens hospitals.. Right now we just did the stickers on the car to spread the word on what we are trying to do, it will be LOTS of work and a good chance it wont actually happen unless some big sponsors step up. But its all worth it whether it does happen or not. Oh and I got the hood vents installed, they actually work great and let out a TON of heat since my car seems to run 10X hotter than Dans XKR.

I know you have been busy but thought I would mention this again for all of us that are suffering from this and after noticing that my driver side vent now has a crack in it as well, without even messing with it. I guess just from the typical movements of driving... any free time coming up?
