Can a 2007 XK use lowering springs from a 2010 XKR? Or they are different animals?
Where's the wheels? Looking forward to seeing them!

New wheels are on! However, it isn't quite done because Discount had to give me some loaner tires that are narrow and low profile due to incorrect inventory promises. Full set of Pilot Super Sports will go on Monday.

Nonetheless, below are a couple of teasers.

Look very nice on the car.

Just wondering; are they forged? Did you get the weights of the wheels without tires?

Think I'll reserve judgement until correct boots are on - the rims look kinda odd with those ones. But the centres look good.

Wheels are forged. Cor Cipher concave brushed and clear coated centers with chrome reverse lip. They are 30 lbs. I thought that was heavy til I realized how heavy stockers are. I haven't weighed the stock yet but when we unloaded them they were quite noticably heavier.

I don't think they look odd even with the wrong tires. Just not as perfect as I'd like. But next week it will improve the final 10% to perfection.

I think wheels look AWESOME........nice selection, for style, and looks great on the car.

I like the "deep dish" look.

Looking forward to seeing some different angle shots and closeups once you complete the job.

Thanks for the compliments guys. For those that didn't notice there is a link to a clip of the big cat in motion with the big wheels. Very bad quality but I had no idea wife would take it from her phone - she gets points.

Simply gorgeous. The wheels make the car look even more exotic. Nice choice!

Must be me - it looks like the edge of the rim sticks out significantly beyond the tyres, which (being black on a black car) sort-of disappear, giving me the impression of wagon wheels. Optical delusion, I guess.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing more pics of the final version.

Those wheels have elevated the car into one of THE best looking XKR's I have ever seen. Bravo! Good work!

Evoking,
They look great! I like how the chrome lip coordinates with the other chrome trim (windows, headlights, bumper scoop) and that the centers are concave and simple. That makes them aggressive but not overdone. Since I'm a traditionalist, I would replace the Cor center caps with either the red Growler or old-school Jaguar logo if they fit to match the red calipers.

Another OEM wheel design that I've always liked is the 20" forged Vortex, first used on the Europe-only 2008 XKR-S and then on the 2010 Europe-only XKR 75 that commemorated Jaguar's 75th Anniversary :

2008 XKR-S:

2010 XKR75:

Thanks to Ngarara for the pix of his great looking XKR 75. For more pix, see his previous post: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-photos-96505/

I believe the OEM Jaguar 20" Vortex wheels are not available in the US.

Stuart

Ok gang, the right size tires are now installed. Since our cars have a unique bolt pattern and fit, plus many are on the fence about whether to enhance our beautiful big cats I tried to take as many angles as possible.

Excuse the poor iPhone quality. Enjoy...
