Default newbie oil change

thought I would ask before I screw something up. 2008 XK
any reason to disconnect these hoses to remove filter other than making it easier to get to?

Think it's the oil cooler.

They look like water lines for the oil cooler so if you removed one you will lose the engine coolant. You should invest in a service manual prior to opening up pandora's box.

Well now that it's done and for any other DIYer's edification, yes that is in fact the oil cooler and those are the cooler lines filled with coolant.

Jaguar does make a special wrench (of course they do) that fits on the end of the filter for removal. Part number is 303-752. A strap filter wrench will also work.

Filter is torqued to 18nm or 13 ft. lbs.
