OBD2 display in ashtray location
Good to see it arrived in 1 piece.
Also good to see that LHD cars don't have the ashtray mirrored :-)
Does the lid still close?
I'm about to send another 4 out right now.
Mark, how about the additional 5.0 functions?

Yes, a typo of me, I meant RHD.
Bob can you explain the differences between Air Intake and AIT2 please?
Boost reading is working fine now but I only took it up to 90...allegedly officer
Barnsie you going to be doing some late night driving?

Barnsie you going to be doing some late night driving?
Could you check some time what the boost psi reading is at idle?

It is a lovely piece of kit as Barnsie will soon attest to.
I’m hella mad (at myself) that I missed this glorious thread. Amazing engineering work by CambrioBob creating a really need product that benefits the community.
IF there is another round of product development (or an ongoing commercial effort), I’d gladly buy one. The products I’ve purchased from Forum members over the years have made owning the Jaguars that much better.

Bob - just to let you know my unit arrived safely. Looks superb! Not able to fit it today as I have been out most of the day, but will fit Sunday morning and report back. Really looking forward to seeing the unit in my car. Great work, and thank you so much!
- If 2 gauges can not be shown on the current display have an option to alternate with 5 second intervals between 2 selected gauges. This should not be too difficult to implement with a bit of added code.
- Include a speaker to sound when a set temperature or metric is reached to alert the operator. This would require additional hardware and added code.
- Use a color display to turn red when a set temperature or metric is reached to alert the operator. This would be a display upgrade with added code.
Bob, has shipped a unit to me. I should have it in 5-7 days. I'm a retired software engineer and would be happy to add the code myself. I look forward to more iterations of this.
Yesterday MarkyUK found out that errors occurred on his device, caused by a too fast OBD2 data request rate. This had to be sped down from 300ms to 500ms in order to solve this.
Another problem what came out was that the differential temperature readout doesn't work, so that has been removed from the code.
Everyone who has had a shipping confirmation already will have to update their device when it arrives
with the latest firmware available on my website (4.2 / 3.5 EZ-Updater or 5.0 EZ-Updater)
update procedure (Windows):
- windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 users, download and install these drivers : click
- windows 10 has drivers built-in
- find yourself a micro-USB cable, plug it into the device and computer (see pic below)
- run the downloaded EZ-updater and follow the on-screen instructions.
- If you own a MAC OS X, updating is also possible, but only from within the Arduino IDE software (and download the "Model code" ZIP file)
- extract the ZIP and open the file with extension .INO
- All is explained how to do in the "Manual: software" PDF file.

In the meantime, if you are a bit handy, you are able to build one by yourself, everything you need is available on my website.
Be sure to update the device before installing, see 2 posts back.
