Hoping it will be a while before the XK joins its brethren at that great junk yard in the sky!

Picture taken immediately after the solar eclipse, April 8th 1:45 PM CDST, in the middle of nowhere, Texas at Hillbillyzoftexas. (A restaurant and bar catering to bike and car enthusiasts)wj

No, no rattles or leaks at all. Very solidly installed, it looked completely stock. I really liked it and would consider doing it in another one. There was some slightly increased wind noise at higher speeds due to the obvious small lip and the roof not being a single sheet of metal, but the sound deadening in these cars made it really a non-issue.

Who installed your sunroof? I get that XKs can be considered track cars to some degree but for us leisure coastal drivers, I’ll never get why sunroof wasn’t an option for these cars. Some say it’s for safety but a sunroof / moonroof actually accentuates the sleek design of the XK when it’s on “tilt” mode. Makes it looks that much more sporty and aggressive at the same time. Any arguments can simply be rebutted with “there’s a convertible - it flips on the track, it can kill too”. My .02

British infiltration of the German base successfully completed. Dropped the black 911 C2S off last Thursday for an exhaust install but their tech called out sick, ended up swapping for the XKR so it could get an oil change. Swapped the 911 back yesterday for the exhaust install

Agreed on your points. Any argument against it is really based on old sunroof designs and shoddy installs by less-than-capable dealers. As for the installer, I don't know, because it was like this when I bought it and I was the 3rd or 4th owner. I assume it was a dealer-offered upgrade - when I worked at Cadillac we used to offer these for ~$1500 installed and would send to a local body shop to handle the installation professionally. This would lead to some CTS coupes with retractable sunroofs that the others never had, which was a cool upgrade as you noted.

Beautiful cars, love the green! What are the springs like installed, and can you quantify the difference between stock vs. the new springs? What does the VAP stage 1 tune bring to the table? Any other changes to the car?

Jaguar engineers designed the X150 convertible with rollover protection, including the A-pillar and rollover bars.

All X150 convertibles came from the factory with two pop-up rollover bars, one behind each passenger seat, that automatically deploy instantly based on the angle of the vehicle.

I had to remove one of mine when I installed the remote control top module from White XKR. It was one of the scariest things I've ever done, as it contains an explosive charge that pops it up.

Not explosive, but yeah, scary to handle. There’s an electrical connection to a solenoid that releases the spring loaded hoops, that lock into place once deployed.

I stand corrected. As I recall, I read somewhere that it was activated like an airbag.

Did a fly and drive about a month ago to pick this up after my O2 XK8 lost it's motor last summer. Drove about 1300 miles home flawlessly. Love it. Still have the XK8, haven't quite decided if I want to spend the money on repairing. The two cars are so dynamically different that I'd love to have both in the stable to take out depending on my mood that day

It's obviously a 4.2L XKR, but I can't tell the year, mileage, and options by looking. The wheels appear to be 19" Jupiter design. Interior photos would be nice. Please update your Public Profile and signature to include this beauty!

Good for you choosing to drive home rather than using a delivery service. I thoroughly enjoy driving XK's on 1000 mile plus trips.

Green of any shade is a rarity on the X150. Few original buyers opted for it.

Thanks! The car rides just a touch lower with the new springs and a little stiffer, still completely comfortable and compatible with every speed bump I encounter in NYC. Ride height looks just right, the car is just begging for a set of wheel spacers now. The VAP tune is just their Stage 1 without pulleys, bumps the car from 510HP/461 Ft/lbs to 565HP/517 Ft/lbs. Butt dyno seems to confirm its stronger (and LOL traction) but I haven't actually dyno'd the car. No other changes, just maintenance.

My 13 XKR vert is in the left edge of the pic of your 13 XKR. And you are correct, more Jaguars there than I have seen there in recent years.

The XJ in the middle picture is a dead ringer for my first Jag.
