Got the code and from reading here it needs a new thermostat. Question is where do I get it from? The ones at rockauto, advanced, and autozone do not look like what is in the car. Closest dealer is 2 hours away. Any advice?

You should order one from a dealer. Gaudin Jaguar has a good online parts department. Is this for an XK or XKR?

XKs have a plastic thermostat housing that is prone to cracking. The Rs have an aluminum one.

The OEM thermostat is the only one I could find that would fit. Many aftermarket ones are mislabeled.

If I remember right, it is a relatively easy install. Just remove the engine cover and air intake tubing, remove a few bolts and replace the thermostat. I believe in order to bleed the systrm when filling, you will need to fiddle with the supercharger coolant reservoir, which has its own washer/gasket that must be replaced.

Suggestion - If you plan to do much of your own work, a good investment would be the shop manual available on Ebay for about 12 - 15 bucks.
