Default Parasitic Electrical Draw on 2011 Jaguar XKR

I have a parasitic electrical draw on my 2011 Jaguar XKR. Trying to run an inline electrical test but can't find the switch that turns the trunk light off. Need to disable this switch to run the electrical test. 1) Any one know how to get at the switch? 2) Anyone have this problem before and if so what was the solution? Any help much appreciated.

You can either wait until the light goes off or, using a suitably sized implement, press into the lock to fool the car into thinking the trunk is closed. Press the button on the dash to reopen it again.

Do not close the trunk lid when you have fooled it or it may not open again.

Hey Jim, thanks. Any suggestions on a 'suitably sized implement' i.e. screwdriver or similar?

Screwdriver should suffice.

Thanks. I managed to get the multi meter leads out of the trunk so that I can shut it and still take a reading. 1.5 Amps being drawn with the car shutdown! Just need to go through three fuse boxes to find the circuit thats causing the draw!

I've moved your question from X250 (XF & XFR 2007-2015) to X150 (XK/XKR 2006-2014) forum.

Bear in mind that the car will not drop to minimum drain immediately. First, you must lock the car to get it out of 'convenience mode', or it will take up to 30 mins to fully power down. Even after it is locked, it can take up to 5 mins, or 10 if you have TPMS. It should eventually get down to about 33ma.

A couple of thoughts on any residual drain: a dead battery on the battery-backed alarm sounder or a Tracker.LoJack/whatever, if either of those is fitted.
