Parking sensors stay on then in reverse.
This last few days when i engage reverse the parking sensors give off the warning noise even when there's nothing behind the car. I haven't used the pressure washer near them at any time. It has been bad weather here for a few days, i cleaned them of but it hasn't cured the problem. Ant ideas

I'm not Cee Jay but the sensor is held to the bumper cover by 2 clips. If the clips come loose it can trigger them.
Constant beep means usually one of them is malfunctioning (high resistance, short to ground, short to power, etc.) There is also the control module itself.
Check the screen to see which sensor is giving you the problem. There are specific DTC codes for each sensor as well. These would be Jaguar specific so you won't find them with a generic scanner.
To access them, you need to remove the bumper cover. Sometimes the problem is just corrosion and you can try to unplug, clean and apply some dielectric grease to each sensor. You really need IDS to know the specific problem with the system though.
There is a button on the roof console that allows you to disable I think.

Yes that's the way they work. Quirky type of design. If you back up first they will then work but if you just want to check your front you need to press the button.

PRINCIPLES OF OPERATION
If a forward drive gear is selected when the vehicle ignition is first switched on, the front parking aid sensors (if fitted) will not be operational. If reverse (R) is the first gear selected after the ignition is switched on, both the front and rear parking aid sensors will become operational. If a forward drive gear is subsequently selected, the rear parking aid sensors be switched off by the control module but the front parking aid sensors will remain operational until vehicle speed increases above 16 km/h (10 mph).
Parking aid will only become active if the following conditions exist:
Front and rear sensors fitted
• Ignition on
• 'Park' is not selected
• Parking brake is released
• Vehicle speed drops below 7 km/h (4.5 mph) - rear sensors only
• Vehicle speed drops below 7 km/h (4.5 mph) and control switch pressed - front sensors only.
Rear sensors only
• Ignition on
• Reverse gear selected for more than 1 second.
