Default Passenger seat recline issue

My passenger seat will back will not sit up correctly. It appears to only travel about 1/3 of the driver, leaving the seat and passenger leaning back very far.

I have done several searches, and what I have gathered is the dealer will have to reprogram it.

I loath having to go there and have not found any indy in my area that has the diagnostic tools.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks J

There is a recalibration process done through SDD, the software diagnostic tool. Not sure if this helps but maybe if you set it to a possible extreme position/back inclination, and then disconnect the battery and reconnect it, it might find its way back? Haven't tried this myself, though.

I had the same problem:
1.go to dealer
2.open wallet
3.pay to have it recalibrated
4.done.

If you have a spare laptop, you can get set up yourself for as little as $50.

I have had my Mangoose (Chinese clone of a Mongoose) for 5 or 6 years and have been able to do most things dealers do, including updating firmware in various modules.

As ejjbee said and as you can see from the attached screen shot the seat calibration routines are in one of the menus.

That is what I was hoping to hear. Where can I find more info?

If you have a few hours to spare you could start with this thread:

Cloned dealer scan tool - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

There are quite a few suppliers and some people have had mixed success with them but I think I bought mine from here:

JLR Mangoose SDD V145 for Jaguar and Land Rover

They also do a copy of the Mongoose Pro now as well:

V145 JLR Mangoose SDD Pro for Jaguar and Land Rover

As you can see from the first thread I mentioned, the cable should come with a copy of SDD (Jaguar supplied diagnostic software). You may or may not be able to read the CD the software comes on and it may or may not work fully! SDD V131 seems to be the sweet spot for functionality and least issues and there may be a link to a copy in that thread somewhere.

You can buy the cable plus a complete image of a virtual PC from a few suppliers which means you don't have the hassle of installing the diagnostic software yourself. I have not had many problems myself but some people have wasted days trying to get theirs working. Once you have it working though it is an invaluable tool and will pay for itself over and over again.

If you use it to update firmware you must make sure you have a decent (at least) 25 amp power supply connected to the battery otherwise you run the risk of bricking modules.
