Passive or electric coolbox?
Hi
We currently have a cheap campingaz coolbox and have pitches booked with electric hook up this year. Usually the Campingaz one melts after a day at best.
We mostly camp 3 nights but are doing 5 this year in early August. We have previously never camped with electric. Last year it was scorching early August (was wet and cold the next camp later that august lol). We probably wont ever be camping abroad.
So, I was originally going to buy a Halfords 24l electric box (£65) then saw an IceQ brand one which seems to have great reviews (£69 32l).
Then I've seen the Colman Extreme and Igloo Maxcold boxes which say they can last 5 days. Most reviews for the Halfords/IceQ electric boxes suggest you still need to put in Ice and replace it every day or so, which suggests it may be pointless buying one. We had planned on going electric all the time but may possibly go without in future.
I can't tell if these Passive 5 day boxes will actually stay colder than the electric ones which state 20c below ambient max. Is that with ice taken into account?
I'm aware the compressor fridge types are better or 3 way boxes but both are way out of our budget and seem OTT, happy to spend £120 max. A small fridge was considered but would take up too much space in the car (and needs to be SN class really.
Any one have experience of this and could offer any advice?

It appears from your Public Profile and history of your posts that you have a 2003 X-type. This is the X150 Forum, for 2007-2015 XK/XKR models.
You posted the same question twice. What does your question have to do with this Forum? You may want to edit your posts and delete them, since they are irrelevant here.
This is the latest in a strange series of posts from you.
1. no indication of vehicle although you have mostly posted in X-Type forum
2. no location other than US in your profile
3. your IP Adddress is Frankfurt, Germany
4. Halfords is a UK supplier of motoring and cycling products and services but your timezone is set to EST
5. you quote prices in UKP
More than sufficient for suspicion and even for an immediate ban. If your next post isn't one in New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum resolving these anomolies, that is exactly what will happen.
