I’ve got the pedestrian warning light on the dash 2008 XKR cab. I’ve read the posts and can see there are two sensors at the front cross member low down that I’ll have to remove the slash Gaurd. Plus two at the rear of the bonnet/hood. I’ve scanned with icarsoft and I get U-3000-66 and the attached resistance values
Question is is there anyway to tell if it’s the front or rear sensors?

Confused by the question. The Pedestrian Contact/Impact Sensor (FL079) and associated components are located behind the front bumper. The hood latch actuators (FL078, 077 058, 057) clearly at the opening end of the hood.
A read of section 501-20C of the Workshop Manual should help you out.
Thank you for the reply and apologies for my haste in the question I could have described it better. I have read 501-20C and there are specific DTC codes for each of the sensors in the pedestrian system. I guess my scan tool isn't sophisticated enough to give the specific DTC code and sensor at fault. It just shows U-3000-66 and when I click on 'show error code information' it gives the resistance values of four sensors. I'll have another root around the scanner to see if there is anymore information before I start ordering.
Hi, I'll be looking into the same issue, I'm picking up a jlr v3 icarsoft scanner tomorrow so will have a look myself before the weekend..
took a gamble and purchased one of the front sensors last week and tried a straight swap of the LH and then the RH and the light didn't go out either time so it must be one of the other sensors by the latches.

Did you delete the fault code with a code reader? Some faults will not reset by just driving the car.
I didn't to be honest, i did read somewhere and watched a video on YouTube someone changing these sensors and they didn't have to reset any codes. Once I pick up the my scanner I'll probably do a reset and see what codes come up. I'm sure they'll be a few as I haven't had any codes checked whilst it's been under my stewardship for the last 3 years.

Could be both of them.
I had both replaced on mine a couple of years ago as they'd both failed even though I was only getting intermittent message displayed, fault's not been back since.

Hi, I've plugged the scanner in and cleared the codes, the pedestrian sensor warning comes straight back on, i did read somewhere that if the light comes on after a 100 times it stays on all the time? it has come on more than 100 times for me I believe..
does this mean that the module is 'full' and i need to get a new one, or if I replace just the sensors the error will go away?
for reference this is the info I pictured from the scanner.
regards Dave.

Hi,
Just after some advice please. As per the thread I have managed to replace the sensors on the bumper and have managed to eliminate the LH and RH sensor faults, however I still have the control module fault, is this because it has come on more than the 100 times or will the fault clear after I drive the car for a while?
Good to hear you have managed to clear the sensor faults (how do you get the icarsoft to show the sensors? Mine is just showing control module only). I took it to a garage that had a far more substantial scanner and it gave the same result. They suggested a new battery or to fully charge it (just to eliminate that before I go changing sensors and modules - quite refreshing really). I put it on a Cetek last night and still the same result this morning. I will order the module and let you know how it goes.
When you do the autoscan you will get the results, scroll down to 'ICS', press enter,
it might ask set ignition to ON, i pressed the F1 key, scroll down to 'read fault code' press enter, you should have the information you need, i had three pages, lh sensor, rh sensor and control module, now I've replaced the sensors I only have the control module fault now.
Hi, just for information, I managed to find someone who has the sdd equipment and he reset the module, no more lights ready for the MOT next week!
So in my experience if anyone has the pedestrian sensor light come on try and find out which sensor needs changing before you get to the 100th time the warning has to be cancelled and stays on permanently, as the module stores all the cancellations. On the bright side, the module can be reset, so t doesn't need to be changed.
it only took about 20 mins to complete the job.
Finally got round to replacing the two sensors (with new) at the front. The icarsoft now says left and right sensors are at fault great!. Plus says module is in permanent state. So in answer to my original question the icarsoft can identify a faulty right or left sensor. I will look for someone with ssd software that can reset the module.
