MaximA,

You are a rare and welcomed breed. Along with Ghostrider, myself and a few others. We are are about at as rare as our cars themselves.

VERY few XKR owners have done aftermarket wheels 1) because most XK owners are conservative and 2) because the fitment is a'hem - interesting which is compounded by the fact that few wheel mfg's address our fitment. I went through two sets before getting it right too.

And even fewer owners would change the exhaust, suspension, body etc.

I plan to plastidip the centers of my wheels anthracite. I had originally ordered them anthracite center but there was a mishap and we changed the order. Had also bought the Mina diffuser but my body guy thought it was poor quality and suggested I not install it. I still kinda wish I did it.

I have replaced some of my burl interior with engine spun aluminum for that Spyker/Bentley look. Last thing I may do is replace the rest of the burl with piano or wrap my burl.

If more of us modded we may see the value of our cars actually go up because when people see how incredible they call look with drop, wheels, etc we could poach more from BMW M, Porsche etc. Hey, I am fairly hardcore having owned Viper, 911, Lotus, NSX, Z06, Z4M and more. It was the vision of what this car would be modded that made me buy one!

Keep up the modding and keep the pics coming!

Thank you Evoking! I personally love functionally modifying cars and aesthetically if it doesn't deter from the performance that I'm after. You've owned some of the same cars I have and I bought them as they were wonderful platforms to begin with but with a few tweaks become real beasts. Glad to know there are some people that appreciate modified cars as there are very few in the Jaguar world. Although I must admit I love classics, and will soon be looking for a bone stock 87-89 911 turbo as I absolutely love those cars.

Heres a pic I took in the morning before Jaguar Performance Academy which I attended and have to say is amazing. If you have the chance to go don't hesitate its a wonderful experience and you get to beat up someone elses XKR, XFR, F-Type, and XJR. They even had F-Type coupe and XKRS-GT on display. I'll post some pics and videos of the event next week in a separate post.

Seeing your car had me thinking you had to use your car at the event, until I get to the end of the paragraph.

Those wheels are so perfect.

One thing about your parking spot.....no door dings. You know you have something special when other car owners WON'T park next to you.

Do you own the parking lot building?

Well done. Those rims are the best looking rims I've seen for the Nissan MaximA! Where did you get them? What are the exact specs and fitment of tires front and back. The gloss charcoal is sweet. Very very nice and not murdered. kudos to MaximA

MaximA, Did you have to remove the rear mudguards (1/4 to 1/2 extensions over wheel wells) to fit the 295 tires without scraping issues or was it the 305 tires?

Yep, did the Academy. Blew my mind about how capable and consistent this large GT is around a track. The challenge you will find with these cars is that they are so competent that you aren't always aware of how special it is from behind the wheel on regular roads. Unlike say a GT3, Gallardo, R8, NSX. In the others you feel the precise throws, super sharp steering ultra low ride height etc. In the XK, except for the roar and thrust it won't always "feel" like a supercar. That said, we'd be hard pressed for find a more complete car.

And I'll be dog gone if this supercharged 5.0 isn't the most underrated engine out there. You always hear about the AMG and M mills. But this motor is absolutely stonkin!

The second to top level of deck at the office is always empty, every now and then a M5 and S7 park up there but luckily it stays empty. Couldn't ask for a better place to park away from home.

Thank you DGL! Yes we removed the mud guards as they caused a little rubbing but will probably put them back on when I install the coilover as the car will be raised around 10mm.

I agree with you and its the main reason I went with a few mods, the car is a bit more raw now. It has as you say that capable feel, and on the highway its just incredible to drive. The rear dampers are a bit overmatched right now(felt that way with stock springs to me) but the coilovers will take care of that issue. That should complete the car as a complete package.

The engine in this car is awesome! With a tune and pulley it just screams and pulls hard all the way to the redline. I miss a lot of upshifts as it hits redline so quickly. It just puts a grin on my face whenever I drive it.

Its just a great GT car!

Are you planning on attending the advanced course? They told me Austin is going to be on the list of the 2014 tracks. Thats one track I'd love to drive, and soon as its announced I'm signing up. Have a feeling that one will fill up quickly.

I believe they are there mostly to meet regulations about how far wheels can protrude from the bodywork - they don't go down far enough to be considered mud flaps. The XKR, with wider wheels than the XK, needs them to meet the regs (particularly EU regs). I suppose there might be a protective element, but since the bodywork tapers in from the wheel arch, it's hard to visualise how they'd actually be offering protection.

They are HRE P101 in gloss Charcoal that I ordered directly from HRE. 20x9.5 ET45 front and 20x11 ET40 rears.

MaximA, I think I noticed that the stock 2013 XKR wheels are 20x8.5 ET49 front and 20x9.5 rear ET46.

Did you go to the different offset to accommodate the wider wheels or to make a wider stance?

In the front it was 5mm more positive offset for a wider stance and in the rear 6mm of negative offset to fit the larger wheel and tire at the desired ride height.

so 20x9.5 ET45 front and 20x11 ET40 rears on 295/30/20 for the rear and 265/35/ZR20 for the front. and which lowering kit do you currently have installed? H&R springs I think you said?

Yes thats it, right now I'm using the H&R springs for 35mm drop but am moving to Coil Overs which should have it around 30mm.

Stunning. You make me want to burn down my 285 PSS and go trim my liner to fit the 295's! Still not sure what exactly you cut but I know the 295 was so close I'm sure doing will prob work.
