Default Pre-Owned 08 XK vehicle history

I recently bought a pre-owned 08 Jaguar XK, this is my first import. I'm a GM guy (currently own a 2009 Cadillac SRX and 2007 Corvette Z06) when I buy pre-owned GM cars I can get what is called a GMVIS report. This shows everything ever entered in a GM computer from the initial order, build info etc to it's last dealer service.

Can I get this same info on my Jag? I ask because when I asked my local Jag dealer for this info they said "Jaguar doesn't allow the none selling dealer to provide this info".

On the Corvette Forum there are many members that have access to the GMVIS and provide it for free. Can some one here help me?

Thanks

Tom

Hmm, don't know about any central Jaguar records, but the services should all be shown in the Service Book that comes with the car, along with the Owner Handbook.

My car was a lease there wasn't a single entry in the Owner's Manual.

Who was supposed to make these entries?

Any repairs made at a Jaguar dealership will be in the system. Any Jaguar dealer can get that information. It seems that some dealers are reluctant to do it though.

The agent carrying out the service at the prescribed intervals is supposed to fill in and stamp the service book. Unfortunately this does not always get done if the cars are owned by lease companies who retain the books. Obviously, an invoice is also produced and these will go the the organisation paying it. I suppose you will have to try persuading a Jaguar agent to search the Jaguar records.

Maybe in the UK, but here in the states dealers only enter repairs in their computers and give the customer a repair receipt.
