Rain rain go away - or f it?
Hi all,
If there is a chance of rain in the forecast, do you drive your Jag and risk getting it caught in a thunderstorm? Do you care? Those pristine wheels you just spent 20 minutes shining...
Just curious how this group manages that.

I am probably the wrong one to ask as here in Florida it is a chance of rain every day. Doesn't mean it does, but daily showers at some point are expected, it can rain one block away and my yard stays dry.
I will wash the car and then the Wife will take it out in the rain. Kills me, if I am home I make her take my car (which stays outside of the garage). But only if I JUST washed the Jag. It is inevitable that it will get rained on the next day or the day after. If I waited for a guarantee of no rain it will never get used.

Rain is one of the best times to drive this car.
The jetstream in the sideview mirror alone is worth it.
Then there is the occasional intentional drifting, the traction control catches you. So technically is the brief moment from when you lose grip and the car cuts power to the wheels.

I usually wash my car myself about every second or third day or so. Living in L.A., any year except this one where we had a record amount of rainfall, we usually have less than 7 days per year of rain, so it's not really an issue. However, rain would never stop me from driving any car that I own. It's quite amusing to me to see ads for cars proclaiming that they've never been driven in or exposed to rain. I guess by the same logic, we shouldn't ever shower ourselves either.
I drive it all the time....rain or shine and even the occasional snowfall. When winter approaches, I change to Blizzaks all around and it handles surprisingly well for a rwd in snow. I take good care of it and it still looks like new. Year long enjoyment!
My Evora had a 5 channel under tray rear diffuser. In the rain on the hwy, the fury of water that came out the rear would force cars an extra 50' back.
Up until this spring, my 2007 only saw sunshine, and stayed indoors if there was a chance of rain. But this year it became my DD, so it now plays in the rain. It's interesting to watch the rain sensing wipers try to figure out how fast they should run. They're usually correct, but sometimes flapping like bat out of hell when they could be going half that.
My biggest problem is to determine how fast to go to stop the water from coming into the cockpit. Also having to stop for a light . I must admit the top does go up fairly quickly. Oh never use your windshield washers with the driver side window down. ENjoy your ride.
