Default Rear Diff Fluid Part Number

I had the oil changed on my 2008 XK yesterday and was told that my rear diff fluid was dirty and should be changed. There is 50K on the clock and technically it's not ready for this service. However, my son is a technician for Mercedes and he has offered to do this for me. I would like to confirm the specs for the fluid and can't seem to locate them.

Anyone out there have this information?

Thanks in advance...

The differential fluid for the XK is part number JLM21847, 2 bottles needed. Not sure of the exact specification, but you may be able to trace it through the part number. I had mine changed a couple of years ago.

Interestingly Castrol doesn't show any XK's.........only XJ's to 2006!
I guess I should not be using it!!

I believe it's a 75W/ 140 synthetic. Can anyone confirm. I just had my left output shaft seal replaced for the second time, I'd urge you to have both checked if you live in a colder climate. (both times mine went after a deep freeze)
