Replacement Parts during Head Gasket Replacement
Hi all,
due to have the head gasket replace on my 2007 XKR with 160 K on the clock. I'm looking for some advise on which parts should be replaced whilst the engine is out of the car (and in addition to tackling the Duck Bill). Whilst I've seen some commentary on the forum previously I cant seem to track it down even using the search function. Would appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction on either the threads or parts.
Many thanks,

Considering timing chains are coming off when pulling the head i'd be looking at new guides, tensioners , chains at that many miles also water pump and potentially sending your fuel injectors off to be reconditioned/cleaned
I would add onto that list by saying you should figure on replacing anything not made of metal that resides down in the engine V, and all the plastic and rubber bits that connect to the SC elbow in the back end. You are going to encounter some really brittle stuff. It would also be THE time to rebuild the SC drive snout
Also a good time to do a rigorous smoke test. At that mileage, quite a few of the 0-rings, and many plastic parts of the vacuum envelope, are likely in need of replacement.
