Default side skirt swap help

does anyone know how to swap off the standard skirts from the xkr, all I can find is a short comment on 7 or so centre pin clips but the part I cant be sure on is the rubber seal and sills as they continue up the edge of the car so i assume they have to come out first...

any help would be great as I dont want to mess up the clips by doinng something in the wrong order...

cheers

For those of us that speak 'that other English' please explain what a 'side skirt' is. Thx.

My guess would be 'rocker panel'.

Mr.Nico,
I seem to remember that the side skirts (at least the ones I got from Mina Galleries) bolt on directly to the existing rockers. And these skirts appear to look like those of the XKR175, Are these the skirts you're thinking of adding?

Sorry... forgot they have "alternate names" I tend to only think of them as Rocker panels in 4x4's!

to give a little more info... I have the standard XK150 and purchased the limited edition XK60 side skirts, they are replacement panels rather than bolt on and more or less just an exaggeration of the factory sills (side skirts/ rocker panels) you can see them in these images (that another member posted although mine is the face lifted pre-2012 version so my front and rear bumpers (fenders?) are different)

this is a link to a forum comment on piston heads where someone (@ Paragon) had swapped them.

and this is a link to a forum post I found with the previously mentioned instructions

however when you open the door and look at them the sill protector sits on top of the outer edge of the rocker panel and rubber trim/ seal runs through the lip of it into the main body work of the car. I've pulled a bit of the rubber and found its also held in with plastic clips but just wondered if anyone had done the swap and had additional info on the order of things... its one of those jobs I'm happy to do but would be good if I knew about potential "gotcha's" in advance!

Did you get the attached not very clear fitting instructions with the side skirts?
