Default Siphon fuel tank how please

Hi Guys, managed to write my car off with a full tank of gas. I’ve tried threading a thin pipe down but I’m not getting to the gas, is there an anti-siphon device or something?
New front tyres too, sheeesh.

There certainly is an anti-siphon. I'd say harpoon the tank, but if it's in good nick that'd make the tank a parts write-off also. It's slow, but maybe use a pump and go through the fuel line? OR, hook the in-tank fuel pump to voltage and run that sucker until it stops.

Your insurance company will inevitably write that off, just as ours did last year. However, as the damage is high up it could well be repaired with second-hand parts, which an insurer will not even contemplate.

In our case, I told the insurance to forget about a potential claim and they erased it from their records so there was no effect on the premium and no write-off category. I then repaired the car using second hand parts for £600 plus some work from a body shop for £1000.

It depends how much you personally value the car, and how good you are with spanners, but you might want to get a second opinion from a good garage.

?? Let me get this right… you just wrote off your car and you are worried about $100 in fuel?

As above, is it really a write off? The front is supposed to collapse on impact.
Did the radiator go into the engine?
Are the fenders buckled?

Out of interest, did you rear end another but were braking at the time?

Somewhat rare, as Jaguar is no longer make good cars like this anymore. Just 3,419 XKR Coupes for 2007.

Yes, I would rather put the £100 of fuel in my other car than pay to fill it up.
its not worth fixing, there are other issues unfortunately.
its was a head on collision.

Did your engine-compartment-based, pedestrian-friendly airbags save the bonnet from being damaged?
