Default Steering rack? Noise

When I’m in some parking situations like a multi storey parking structure I can hear a bit of a grinding noise from the steering when going around the corners slowly with the wheel turned. I checked the ps fluid and it seems fine. Am I looking at needing a new rack?

Probably not looking at a new rack. A dry part on the suspension should be making the noise. You could lube it or change it. Since you are into your power steering pump, use a turkey baster ( after Xmas) to suck out the fluid a few times replacing it with fresh suff. Happy holidays!

Weird, the slow speed turn noise is usually associated with the differential.

Out of interest, how many miles on your car? Have the diff and power steering fluid ever been changed?

It’s about 87k km not sure in miles. It has all the jag dealer service stamps so maybe, maybe not. They won’t reveal what work has been done in the past. Privacy issues I suppose

Privacy issues would be the previous owner's name. Work performed isn't "privacy", they just don't want to do the 45 seconds of research. Talk to the guy above whoever told you that.
