Suprise Tire Issue
The original warranty on my 08 XK Convertible Select Edition is expiring this week. I took it to my local dealer for a complete inspection and they reported that my car (1) has winter tires and (2) has the wrong size tires. I purchased the car from another dealer in another state.
The Select Edition Certification states, "The Select Certified program includes a rigorous inspection process with stringent standards for both mechanical and cosmetic condition. In addition, a vehicle history report comes standard with every Select Certified Pre-Owned Jaguar vehicle.” (emphasis added). Moreover, item numbers 120-123 on the certification form require an assessment of the tires and wheels.
I wrote the selling dealer and told them they are responsible for relacing the tires with the correct type & size. I said that, as a compromise, I'd deduct for wear during the time I owned the car.
Has anyone experienced an issue where the certification was done wrong? Does anyone have a contact for Jaguar corporate?

There's no mistaking the appearance and sound of true winter tires while you're driving not to mention horrible handling rapid wear during summer. Got a picture of the tire tread and sidewall? Maybe you just have 'four season' tires.
I've spoken with the selling dealer several times now. My car has 4 Brigstone Blizzak LM-25V tires. All 4 tires are size 245-40-R19 94V. Note, the rear are the same size as the front.
The dealer is willing to replace the 2 rear tires with the correct Blizzak tire size.
I do not drive the car in the snow but do drive in the rain. I don't drive the car over 110 mph and I have not noticed any difference in ride or handling on the car - granted, I have never driven the car with all season tires.
I'm curious what opinions people have on here about what tires I should run.

Well, the dealer was right- those are winter snow tires. If the car came from a state where snow tires are commonly used and was sold during the winter, I suppose that would explain why they were installed and why the accepting dealer made no note of their presence.
go for Brigestone Potenza S04's or Michelin Pilot Sport. Both are high rated and not too expensive compared the Dunlops that came stock.
Ask for a check for what they'd pay for the Blizzak's and run to NTB for new tires!
