No. They sense under-inflation only.

Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure while at ambient temp and leave them alone. If the warning keeps coming on and the tire is found to be low, there is a leak.

Interesting - and very helpful. I never get the Tyre Pressure light until AFTER at least 15 minutes of driving - which leads me to think that the car does, indeed, take warm-up pressure into account.

Are you saying that the tire warning illuminates as soon as you start driving?

Wish I could have done AZ/UT/NV in an XKR vert, but all we had was a Chrysler Sebring. And yeah, Utah is a beautiful place.

I'm not sure what you're seeing with the "TPMS" warning, but perhaps it is actually a TPMS fault. I had a similar fiasco with a blown tire, and ever since then (it's only been a few weeks and I've only driven the car 2 or 3 times) I have a TPMS fault. I think it's because the new tire was fitted with the ignition off and now the system is expecting to see the pressure gradually be increased. At least that's what I thought I read on the X-Type forum.
