Default Syncing Contacts iPhone 7

I cannot get my iphone 7 contacts to sync with my 2012 XK. (They sync fine on my 2013 XJ). I have <100 contacts and I cannot get ANY of them to transfer to the car - either manually or automatically. There are no contacts on the car. The sync contacts is turned on in my phone Bluetooth settings.

When I select "Start manual download" the phone is disconnected, (as expected per the manual), a window opens on the car's display that states "Once the phonebook data has been sent, select Exit to reconnect the last docked phone." (as expected per the manual) and nothing happens.

The same thing happens on my wife's identical iphone 7.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

thanks

You already stated the biggest problem; "iphone".

I have over 2000 contacts and an iPhone and it syncs contacts perfectly. 2012 model year car also. Never had any issues. Not much help I know but don't believe 'it's the iphone" thing.

I finally got the contacts to load into the car. First I deleted both phones from the car. Then I deleted the car on both phones. Finally I paired both phones to the car and the phone books magically appeared on the car.

Glad you got it solved. Sometimes it pays to go back to ground zero when nothing else works.
