After selling the 308 and getting into something new I changed my maintenance strategy . I used to fix everything and enjoyed most of it so today I went back to those days. After 360K miles on my brides Volvo 740 it was time to rebuild the drive shafts. You know remove , replace the 3 U-joints , press out and on the center support bearing and clean up the flanges and supports. Also replaced the transmission mount. So tomorrow I'll paint everything up and reinstall . Just a casual day and not to bad a job. While under there it looks like shocks and bushings will be added in the future . It's still a B getting all of that grease out from under my nails.

 

Jagtoes, good on you for getting your hands dirty However, maybe one day surprise her with a newer(used) Volvo….. LOL….. You don't want to spoil her

 

LOL but I tell here EVERY year she can go buy any new car she wants and all she says is just keep my Volvo running. I see 500K in her eyes.

 

You better keep them both around

 

Saab used to give out plaques to owners reaching 500K.

Maybe it's a Swedish car manufacturer thing.
