Hello I have a 2003 XKR the transmission has started doing a weird surging thing when it is cold. It surges ie revs up and back like it is hunting for the correct gear. It stops once it warms up and also seems to be better when in sport mode. I have 63,500 miles on the car suggestions????

Have you ever serviced the trans? Sounds to me like the fluid is thick when cold and having trouble getting through the filter. When it's warm it flows easier.

 

OOPS sorry I meant to hit the X100 button. No the trans has never been serviced I was just watching a video on how to do it as I think that is my first move...Thank You

 

Someone (maybe Sam, aka Reverend Sam???) I think has a video on exactly the procedure to follow to do a DIY trans service.
Pretty sure a Moderator will move this to the X100 area shortly.
