Default Trouble importing iPhone phonebook

I synced my iPhone on my 2009 and some of my phonebook was downloaded from my iPhone but not everything. It is weird because everything up until J or K was downloaded leading me to think there is a limit on how many will import. However there is at least one number missing earlier in the alphabet. I have a few thousand contacts. Any ideas?

Thx

When in doubt, check the Owner's Handbook. If you don't have one in your glovebox, it is available online:

TOPIx - TOPIx

See Page 287: "The system can store a maximum of 750 entries although this figure varies, depending on the type of cellphone used."

See Page 288:
Phonebook capacity
Certain cellphones store the phone book in two different areas, the SIM card and the phone memory. Where possible the vehicle will display both SIM card and phone memory entries up to a maximum of 750 entries. With some cellphones, the number of entries from one or both of these area may be restricted, it is not always possible to transfer addresses stored in one or both of these areas. The number of entries displayed is dependant (sic) upon the number of SIM and phone memory entries support by the cellphone.

Note:
Certain cellphones do not allow phone book entries stored on the SIM card to be transferred via Bluetooth. However, it may be possible to transfer the SIM phone book to the cellphone’s memory, before copying it to the vehicle phone book. Refer to your cellphone handbook for more information. It is advisable to remove duplicate and blank entries from the cellphone before the phone book is downloaded.

You know way too many people. I think your Jag interface is trying to do you a favor.

What I did about this is that I created a new phone book with only the entries that I thought I needed in the xk. Now it works fine. How often do you speak with each of your 4k contacts? Bet you can drop almost 3500+ of them and not miss not having them in your xkr.
