Default Tuners and lack of support.

During the last week I have contacted four different companies about getting a tune and pulley for my car. Only one answered questions fully and had products ready to sell - Eurotoys ltd.
The others.
1) GMP Performance in Charlotte NC did not return any calls - two left voice mails.
2) ECU tuning group in Cary NC, when you call them there is just a voice mail box that does not even mention ECU tuning group, a message says you a reached 919 607....leave a message. Does not sound legit at all.
3) A rep for one of the moderators on the board. Did have a conversation with him a week ago but since gone silent. In fairness I did state I was in no rush. A week is stretching it a bit in my opinion
It seems these cars are not supported and the people that claim to support them simply don't, except one.
I guess the moral of the story is, if you want a tune or some modifications done to your car, call Eurotoys.
The whole thing left such a bad taste in my mouth, I am leaving it stock. If it is this hard to give someone money for a product they are supposed to sell, I can only imagine how hard it would be to get any support if there was a problem.

Mufc,
I can highly, highly recommend HBi Auto in Mocksville, NC. They specialize in Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche but have service and performance tuned many, many makes including Jaguar. They have experience with XK/XKR's and provide wonderful service.

Here is the website:
European Auto Repair, Service, Specialist: Mocksville, NC | HBi Auto

Please send me a PM if you have any questions about my experience. The level of service they provide is stellar.

What part of NC do you call home?

Cheers,

Peter

If you want to get in touch with GMP you really just need to visit. When a customer is in the building, they focus on the customer, not the phone.

They are also pretty darn busy with a fairly full load.

I have a few customers that reported similar experiences, or far worse. Keep us in mind if you decide later on to add some more fun. However, you have a really cool car in its stock form.

Merry Christmas!

I have had really good service from Velocityap. They responded quickly to tweak the initial tune of my RR.

If they could tune my 2005 XJR I would definitely go for it but no one does any more.

I too would check out Velocity AP. I put their decats on my Vantage and were nice pieces. I had questions and they responded right away when it came to the install.

I bought a pulley from VelocityAP a few weeks ago and Stuart was very helpful in answering all my questions and was pretty responsive as well.

Whilst doing research I also noted that they have liability insurance although you hopefully won't need that!

The issues is that you are trying to tune a Jaguar. Support and knowledge how to do it right is very minimal as they are rare outside of UK and most drivers are in their golden years and more concerned about tuning their walker.

Speak for yourself!

Also Velocityap has an office in Canada.

Wouldn't it then be best to purchase your tune , pulley and so on from Eurotoys in stead of cold turkey-ing the whole deal .
You and Eurotoys have both stated the offer in fact does exist . and this will result in you having the pleasure of knowing the guy that offered and came through gets rewarded , and the people you are complaining about then miss out on your money . and the big prize is you get what you were looking for in the first place . happy tuning .
