Default UK reverse light location

Is the reverse light on UK early (2006-2009) XK's on the left side?
If so, I could replace my red rear fog light with a white ***'y for the US; then I could wire 2 reverse lights like a car is supposed to have!
If true, anyone got a part number , please.
Just thinking....................

Happy New Year All, Adrian

Sadly, I dont have any more for you on the Euro side of the house. My IPB shows just one number for the US left on the 07 - 09 cars C2P3557.
2010 and on have two part numbers C2P13337 and C2P21186, but they are differentiated by Vin numbers (up to and post B32963) indicating a production change of some kind.

Where did you find the part numbers you list?

V

ON the rear fog light label looking thru the closer assist hand hole. Obviously they don't look like factory part no's.
Hopefully we will get an input from across the pond soon...................

Thanks for your input, Happy New Year

From a parts fiche source "Accurate Damage Report" used by insurance companies for damage estimates it shows for 2007-09 XK&XKR covertible and coupe:
Left: CP2P003557

Right: CP2P003564

Both are priced at $152.50 each.

This parts fiche is often advertised on eBay for about $5

Rey,
I assume these are US no's? They do match the ones from V (except for 00's) and his IPB list.
Still not have any input from UK members whether left is Red(US) or White(?).
I now have unit on my bench, it's a Hella ,Made in UK, part #239 085 00; no Jag part no anywhere, does show FoMoCo!
It has 3 egg shaped reflectors, could be 3 LED's, and all mounted on a circuit board; the board is fastened to the main unit by 4 plastic rivets/tabs heat sealed.
Haven't decided if I want to pull it apart.............will show it to my neighbor; he's Boeing electronics/electrical and I'm Boeing aero /mechanical , retired!
Enough brain power to destroy the whole thing!!!
Hope UK members wake up soon!!

I am fairly certain the part numbers I cited are for a U.S. version. The parts fiche I have makes no provision for right hand drive parts and the costs are expressed only in U.S. Dollars.

UK seller does not respond to my question about condition and model year; my lunch bunce say's some people don't like to ship over seas, thief and customs.
I do have Grand-daughter in UK with USAF; but have lost interest in that seller!
Still think it's a good solution..................
Did ask same question (white light on left) on jaguarforum.co.uk no responce!!!
Don't understand..................not very friendly.
May be in UK in Sept. so might look around myself...............

Cheers, Adrian

That is sad that you can't get a European owner to answer up some simple technical questions. I've always found them helpful and friendly on other non-Jag forums.

Past experience says any European owner will do, as most cars sold around the world are sold in two flavors... US, and ROTW (Rest of the World). This isn't cast in stone but it is pretty common.
Seems the US is a rather overly regulated market compared to most others.
I have also seen Canada get a mix of the two flavors, with a US (Left hand drive) chassis, and ROTW parts. Many modders often try to get up north to buy those odds and ends, then bring them into the States... Might be worth asking that question of our northern brethren as well...

Do go visit your Granddaughter! It is always nice having family "In country" to give you a more relaxing and enjoyable visit! (And do not return to the forum without pics, or I will request you be banned from all things Jaguar and forced to drive a Prius as restitution.)

I would happily help but I converted mine to the new style LED lights...

But UK law states that any car must have at least one rear fog light (drivers side- Right side), that's passenger side over your side of the pond.
So I presume this was the case on UK cars.

To save all this messing around, I'd say do the rear LED conversion, it brings the car up to date. It's a massive change and well worth the money.

I am not in the same country as my RHD XKR at the moment but as you can hopefully see from the attached pic the left hand side looks like a reflector and the right hand side is the reversing lamp with 3 LED's.

The 2009 Jaguar parts guide has the following part numbers for the reversing lamp:

LHD - RH Rear
USA - C2P9918
Except USA - C2P3560

RHD - LH Rear
C2P3562

Today I was wondering where the location of my rear fog light was. I found a picture of its location in the manual. Now it shows in that picture the fog and reversing light on the left side of the car. Study the picture and you can see that is the location in the FSM's picture.

So we know our reversing light is on the right side, so I assume this picture is of a across the pond fog/reversing light assy.

Just my thoughts on this. I don't actually Know this to be true. Just something I came across a few minutes ago when looking to see if my car has DRL or not (not is the answer at this point in time, and I doubt any USA XK has them).
