Default A Video of my XK Coupe with 111,979 miles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckfk...ature=youtu.be

The 2007 XK coupe is an exquisite masterpiece of car design. Very rarely does a car company get it all so right in the first year production of a new car, but Jaguar pulled it off in style. With its achingly beautiful sheet metal, highly polished veneer wood and acres of soft leather, it truly is the tip of the spear.

After ten years and 111,979 miles... she still looks and drives like a brand new car.

Well done Jaguar, well done!

My XK is identical in age and colour and trim. And it has been 100% reliable (a dangerous thing to say, I know) and a joy to own and to drive. There is nothing more beautiful, or in fact, as beautiful on the road. It elicits comments, all favourable, wherever it goes, and it encourages bad behaviour from BMW drivers, a sure sign of envy.

I have got to get me one of those steering wheels. My 07 is just leather no wood, what trim package includes wood on the wheel?

Love your color.

The trim package that included the leather and wood steering wheel on the 07 cars was the "Luxury Interior" package - full leather interior including dash, console, every bit of the seats, not just the seating surface, door panels and rear cove panels. Heady stuff, and gorgeous.

Jaguar was still putting the wood/leather steering wheels on some cars into the 2010 5.0L range. It almost seems some interior combinations appear to be random (I suspect that they were not random, and were predetermined as per each cars' Build-Sheet).

Speaking of BMW owners...I had an entertaining conversation in the parking lot at my job recently. As I was walking towards my car, I had noticed that there was a BMW 4 series coupe parked next to me and the owner had his trunk (boot) open (he was looking for something). I then opened mine (to store my laptop) and I caught his eyes fastidiously fixated on watching the fastback deck lid open all the way up to the sky. With raised eyebrows he said to me "Wow...that looks so European.". I smiled and said "Yes it does". He then took a look at the interior and said "wow...that really looks European too"...I chuckled lightly and said once again "Yes it does". Then he scratched his head, bit his lip and said "I wish mine looked European". I laughed out loud and replied... "Buy a Jaguar next time". He then gave me a wry smile and I was on my way.
