Default Water dripping from Blower motor passenger side

I usually post of the XJS section as I very rarely have an issues with my XK but I hope you guys here can help me out?
I've recently had my 2008 XK in the dealer to have the A/C evaporator changed (dashboard out etc) as there was a leak and the system would not hold vacuum.
So I've had it back after the job for about 3 weeks and now I have water pouring out from the blower motor area on to the footwell when turning right mainly.
I took the car back to dealer and they tell me its probably something to do with the seal along lower edge of windscreen allowing water to enter the heater at the bulkhead. I've done a water test of my own pouring water on the screen with the pollen filter removed and my hand inside the blower intake and felt nothing, the chamber is completely dry inside.
From inside the footwell, the motor is dripping from the blower motor housing so I now think that the water is from the A/C unit and that the "duck bill" tube is blocked.

Question is do you think it is reasonable to expect the technicians to check that the drain was clear etc while the dashboard was out, perhaps even replace it with the upgraded item?

thanks

Yes, I would think they should have checked and replaced it. It's a $15 part that has a known Technical Service Bulletin on it. The repair calls for removing the dash, so they were already there. They Should fix it for free. I would take the approach that they blocked something or didn't connect up the tube correctly. Let them find the actual problem on their dime.

I just had my duckbill replaced. They removed the dash to get to it. I asked if it would be better to drop the transmission, but they said the best access was from the inside. Two local Jag dealers quoted $850 and $1300. My indy did it for $850.

Good luck!

I agree, the dealer should have checked and replaced the duckbill while they were in there. It is a known issue.

why doesn't the dealer when they fit the modified duck bill attach a longer drainage tube and feed it down enough to to see, even then an attachment may be put on to clean or blow it out regularly. Mine had it fixed before i bought it and there is always a puddle underneath, i do the close vent trick. If it ever goes again i will get a longer pipe put on it. If your getting it done tell them put a long pipe on.

Good point powerhouse! I've often thought, why the hell don't they extend it to an easier O/S location......
Ditto, for sure....
