Yeah, I'm still sniffing around, seeing what's out there.
Personally, I LOVE the Green-on-black, and you almost never see it.
Thoughts?

Very nice looking and rare. Low miles too. Did you drive it yet?

There is such a wide range of pricing nowadays...

This would have been my 1st choice if I could have found one. My 2nd was IRR which I found and bought. Now I could be temped to trade in my XKR for this R-S .

It's in the Detroit area, I'm in NYC for the holidays, so haven't had a chance yet. Just in the "mulling it over" phase."

I know! I think it's high as well. That's really what's holding me back. I think it's like 10 grand over what would work on this car. Is the color combo worth that? I don't think so...

Two thoughts:
- I do wonder if there would be a way to find out how many green XKR-S convertibles there are in the US, period. I gotta think the number is under 10. It'd be a rare car, indeed.
- also, the carfax is wonky - doesn't have the in-service date, and it looks like it went from Vegas to Virgina (where they couldn't sell it? Something like that), and that the Jag Dealer in Michigan bought it at auction.

That does seem high. My pristine 2013 IRR XKR-S coupe with the same miles was almost 10k less from a dealer in the Bay area. I'm sure the BRG convertible is a lot more rare, though.

This is the second XKR-S drop top in that exterior color I've seen for sale in the past three months.

I don't really like the BRG metallic from photos, maybe it would be different in person. Jaguar has had some better looking greens.

That BRG appears to be black on my phone, not very exciting, why not get a true black instead. I’ll take a look from my pc later, maybe it will be more convincing then.
Now, if it were Emerald Fire, I’d be drooling for it.

Or the very similar Jaguar Racing Green off the F1 car.

Interesting, but my money would be on the French Blue. That color is the one the collectors will want down the road.

Sorry, I don’t buy cars for the next owner, as there usually isn’t one. I’ll drive it until it drops, or I’ll just sit and admire it, in my garage, until we both rot out and fall to pieces.

I was talking to a guy at track day who owned a dark green Porsche with a black interior. It was a beautiful color combination. He said he got it cheap because no one wanted that color combination. Apparently most people wanted a beige interior with that color green. Funny what affects the pricing on a car. Based on that feedback, though, maybe you can get it for a lower price.

I say, if you like the color and the car, go for it. I am like kj07xk, I don't buy my car for the next owner. (I agree, there probably won't be one)

Green is a color a few really like very much, and most absolutely wouldn't want at all.

Avoid!
Its from the buckle of the rust belt.
Perverse on multiple levels for Bev Hills to import from Troy.
Especially since you are playing for keeps.

In general I would agree, but a 2012 with a little over 3k a year probably isn't being driven across all conditions.
