For me this is what i'd love my xkr to look like. Love this body kit by F/X, from front to rear, especially in these colors, which do make a difference, the blue is amazing and the front the best bumper design I've seen, the complete package wheels, calipers and exhaust ends all nice, might go for it some time. Others may disagree, to me it's a real looker

The best advice I can give you is to get the number of a body shop that has installed it. Many of these companies claim - ready for paint... however the reality is far from that in terms of fitment. Ask Tberg - he was told his bumper was ready to put on as if you simply paint it and swap it out. ALL XK's come with rear sensors... why would a company make a bumper and claim it needs nothing but install when that is clearly something that has to be done custom. It can be done but like any engineer will say... I can build anything... do you have the time and budget to fund the overall project. Getting things to line up on this is going to be an art and expensive.

I love the looks of the blue version. For some reason it does not work for me in the red version. I would be tempted if it were not to the fitting issues...
As to fitting; I recall when I purchased a new front bumper cover for my twin turbo RX-7. Of course if was advertised as ready-to-bolt-on. When I tried I had a 0.5", uneven gap between the hood and the bumper. I ended up cutting off all mating surfaces and building brand new ones, that was only possible because it was made of fiberglass. If it were made of plastics I would have been out of luck. Huge amounts of work but, looks perfect now. I saw a number of cars where the owners mounted them unaltered and the car looked like junk. Aftermarket tolerances appear to be far short of factory-made products.

powerhouse (and anyone else who's interested in this kit),
Heed R_Rated's and axr6's advice. When you call F/X Designs, you will be speaking to someone named Luke. He will tell you that the the parts are high quality, German made, special material, primed and ready for paint. The design is great, the execution is not. There was an enormous amount of work to get the bumper smooth, to get the bumper to fit, and to tell you the truth, there are still some areas I'm not happy with, and the car will go back in to fill those spots and repaint. Am I sorry I did it, absolutely not, the results are excellent, and I'd do it again. I have a unique car that I have customized to my standards. Even the Mina RS skirts and front splitter don't fit perfectly, and Chris has been making these parts for years. So, if you want tolerances like the factory, there is going to be a lot of work.

I forgot to mention that the mesh that comes in the kit is not the metallic diamond shaped one that you see on the back of the navy car. It's a cheap black plastic honeycombed shaped mesh. I ordered some mesh and purchased a couple of mesh pieces from Mina, and ended up using the ones from Mina.

Powerhouse, I have a friend and former mechanic in Chicago. He runs a high end body shop on the North side. His name is Warren Preis, otherwise known as The Hawk. I will pm you more information regarding him. My thought is perhaps he would be willing to go out Elgin - a suburb of Chicago about 30 miles west - and take a look at both the kits prior to installation and then what they look like upon installation and how much work would need to be done. Anyway, look for my pm.

powerhouse,
I didn't mean to discourage you, obviously, I am thrilled with how mine turned out, and would do it all over again. I just wanted you to know that they're simply not bolt on and paint, and if you're opting for the whole kit, there would be considerable work. However, at the end, you would have one very unique car, aggressive and handsome. Good luck with your decision, I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide.
Although the rear end was my favorite part of the whole package, the front and sides certainly enhance the look as well.
Let us all know what you end up doing.

I like and don't like some of the combinations. 1st funny but owning a IRR car I do not like the rear kit on the red car. The front looks good. The dark car in my opinion looks good both front and back . Now for the mod's done on the silver car I like the paint match as it blends into the overall style of the car. I would like it more if the kit exhaust tips were used as somehow I don't think the round tips fit the lines. I put a body kit on my XJS years ago and it was no easy deal so I can appreciate the work involved.

My expierience with the kit
I had this kit put on my car back in March and also spoke to Luke the sales manager at FX design. When I asked him about the installation of the kit he was very straight forward with me. He told me that the kit needs to be fitted and prepped before even priming or painting it. He also told me that there might be some modifications needed because the parts are custom aftermarket parts, but my body shop guy who installs many body kits told me that overall the kit was way easiar to work with than most kits out there. He said he had to do a few modifications to the rear bumper to mount it on but nothing extensive like cutting or trimming. At first he told me there might be some gaps but after he fitted the kit he was suprised how things aligned with a few easy mods. The car turned out great, very happy with how my car looks now, like a newly designed XK. I definetly have people checking out my ride, makes my wife jelous lol. Will post some pics on a sunny day. My advice would be to take this to a body shop that has expierience with installing body kits. Like my body guy said, if you don't know what your doing, you will charge your customer a fortune to learn.
