I think the burl walnut is quintessentially Jaguar. As with any wood,It can be stained any colour you wish, of course.
Or… source the fake carbon fibre look with made in china vinyl… ROTF, again! Twice in one day.

Thanks to Stuart S who had spotted an EBay posting for a wood trim replacement. I took a chance on ordering the wood trim similar to the above. Definitely original. Going to do some research with the above wood types listed to see if any of the patterns correspond to this. The result got positive feedback from CeeJay, and is much to my own liking as well like that it’s more dramatic

Nigel Thorley's book says the veneer options for XK, XK Portfolio and XKR for 2013-2014 (i.e. 2015 for US market) was "same as 2012" - which was

XK: Piano Black/Knurled Aluminium/Gloss Rich Oak/Satin Rosewood/Burr Walnut/Satin Elm/Satin American Walnut
Portfolio: Knurled Aluminium/Gloss Rich Oak/Satin Rosewood/Burr Walnut/Satin Elm/Satin American Walnut/Gloss Figured Ebony
XKR: Piano Black/Dark Mesh Aluminium/Gloss Dark Oak/Gloss Rich Oak/Satin Rosewood/Burr Walnut/Satin Elm

mind you, by that late stage you could probably BTO any trim combination you fancied.
Did a bit of research on the wood veneers and found the following veneer wood examples that I think correspond with some of the trims I have seen on cars
1) Oak/Satin 2) Rosewood/Burr 3) Walnut/Satin 4) Elm/Satin 5) American Walnut/Gloss 6) Figured Ebony
(note that the burl/burr on any of the above types can look similar despite the different trees but since Burr/Burl seems the only mentioned for Rosewood but I think the dash in question looks most like walnut Burl to me as Rosewood wood be more red-ish and this one is more clear/yellow

1) Oak Satin

2) Rosewood burr

3) Walnut Burl

3) Straight grain walnut

4) Elm

5) American Walnut

6) Figured ebony

I'm surprised there was so many choices for US market!
We had just 3 choices of wood in continental EU.

i thought I saw ebony on some pictures on the net, but thought they were aftermarket!

I would die for ebony set!!!!
If anyone wants to trade my woven aluminium/piano black for an ebony set, let me know!

Different trim levels and years had different veneers. I think the ebony set was for the 2014 XK Signature.

If you're interested in a DIY project, you might look at something like an applique trim kit. https://www.dashkitspecialties.com/j...sh-kit-36-pcs/
No testimonials on how they work/look -- I'm happy with the factory finish in my car so I've never tried these.
