Default XKR or F Type?

I am thinking of selling my 2011 XKR Coupe and getting an F Type Coupe. The thing is I really like My XKR. I'm not sure about the F Type. They are pretty cool but the XKR is so classic. I think I'll take a ride to the dealer in my XKR to check them out. The roads are pretty clean from salt and I am dying to go for a ride.
I know the F Type is not the same kind of car as the XKR. It's more of a sports car as apposed to the XKR which is a touring car. Maybe I'm just bored form the long winter.

Take a nice tour in your current cat, then take the same ride in the F-type. Now you can decide if the difference is worth the price you'd have to pay. My gut feeling is the incremental increase in performance vs sacrifice in ride quality will cancel each other out, in which case you keep the classic.

Just my .02.

I didn't 'mind' the F-type, and the AWD certainly did help acceleration from stopped, but the convertible C-pillar was a horrible blind spot for me. When I looked in 2017(?) the F-Type R AWD was right near $100k, and my XKR trade-in was marked at I think $27,000, that's a lot of coin for a basically lateral move. Now going to a used F-Type, that move would be a lot less.

I've considered the X150 to X152 change twice. What killed it for me is the comparative quality of the F-Type. Panel fit on the bumpers is rarely good although this could probably be improved with a little time and effort but the interior is cheap. It looks and feels like entry level quality and not the premium end of the range.

I had a nice ride to the dealer. They had two F Type coupes. A red 2018 with black interior with 10,000 miles and in the show room was a dark gray new coupe with a red interior. It was pretty nice. They told me it was a very rare color combination. I did kind of like it even though it had gray wheels. All the F Types are spoken for for 2021 (except the one in the show room) so I could not order one. If I want to order one it would be a 2022 and would not arrive for 4 to 6 months.
The F Type certainly is a different car than my XKR. For what it is I do like it BUT they are so expensive. And on top of that the sales tax is a fortune and the property tax would be another fortune and the insurance would be ANOTHER fortune! So I might be willing to pay over $100,000 for the car BUT the additional cost is just over the line.
Driving my XKR home was a joy. While the F Type is a beautiful car it's not worth it to me to trade my XKR for one.

Your XKR is used, why not get a used F-Type for 60% off retail?

A used one is something to think about. Would have to find the right one. Colors and options are very important to me.

I would like to keep my 2007, but I would like every last part of it to be brand new. If that makes sense. For me, only reason to go to F-Type was having a newer car and some better infotainment system. I've not driven one, I've sat in one and the interior felt low key compared to mine (I have the optional leather on dash etc.)

Not worth the €€€€ IMO

Pushing towards a 100K, I'd take an Evora GT or 400 over an F Type without a 2nd thought. Heck, just over a 100K you can buy a new leftover '19 Vantage.

Yes, but who would want a Vantage? sooooooo ugly. Spend double, get the Vanquish.

My car is at the dealer getting serviced, have a loaner with the new infotainment system. Not sure that is a reason to buy a new Jag, I feel other manufacturers are way ahead in that regard. Not terrible but not great either. Personally for me it isn't a factor, just an observation.

I like the longer DB11 more but the vantage is still gorgeous!

F-type would get a lot more attention than your XKR, factor this into your purchase decision (for good or for bad). I find it almost impossible to park anywhere without at least some people ogling over it and I am no stranger to driving luxury cars.

Not even a comparison. Too bad the Vanquish turned into a DBS Superleggera, those are groser than the Vantage.

The latest Superleggera is gorgeous. One of the ladies in my car and coffee club just added one to her stable and it looks stunning with a satin wrap,

Was at the dealer & test drove the DBX over the weekend and I find the AM portfolio to equally beautiful across the board. Not such a fan of the mesh grill on the Vantage, but I doubt you'll see as many being ordered since the slats became available. The local dealer is not going to order many if any for the showroom.

DBX is selling quite well. Each AM model has a different purpose; comes down to what you want the car to do. DB11 and Vantage are quite different.

I would love a DB11 IF the V12 was available on the Volante. Just the V8 on the 'verts so far.
