I do black myself, leaving the Jaguar logo piece in Chrome for emphasis. Especially with vinyl wrap or Plastidip. Nice part of those products is the process is reversible....

If you do Liquid Silver, then pull them off the car and have them hit them while they repaint the nose? Best chance at a color match....

Looking good! Get your front splitter on. As a suggestion, wrap the center piece in silver carbon fiber and maybe do your mirrors too. I've done my XKR: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nations-90840/

I would paint the side vents the same color as your body color to make it look OEM and modern. Just my suggestions. I hope the body shop covers the paint matching problem.

I don't know if your question was just for Vince or not; however, I would do the side vents in silver paint with Jaguar logo piece in chrome. I love the black grille, but to do the vents in black is really going to be a little too much with the fenders, doors, and quarter panels in silver. It's going to make those vents stand out too much (reminds me of the 2014 Corvette with all of those black vents on the light colors - look tacked on) when looking at the car from the side. IMHO.

Many thanks for all the suggestions.

I've decided to go for standard silver vents ... as v8cat suggests black or carbon may be a little too much for me.

Unfortunately I've also just found out that my front parking sensors don't work and the wheel arches don't fit properly ... this is starting to turn into a real headache...

C.J,

What do you think about the Range Rover 2.7 tdv6? 2007 with 51000 km.
I red 3 liters or 3.6 are better but I was wandering.

Paint the vents silver, then plastidip them in black. Then when you get tired of it you can take it back off. Best of both worlds!

I think dark body color, ie: near black, looks better with the chrome grill. I had mine changed when it arrived from the standard XKR black to the chrome. On a light color I agree, I would go with the black.

Keep in mind, the more you alter the car from its original body style and panels, the harder it may be to sell or trade down the road. It would be considered a "mod" and many potential Jaguar owners might not like owning a car that has been modified or pieced together with body panels from other years. I realize making the changes is a personal preference, but may hurt you in the future as far as resale value, and you are also increasing the cost of the car for yourself. Any automobile is a depreciating asset, and adding parts and having to pay for paint, installation etc., just increases costs that may never be able to be recovered in a resale or trade. Just something to consider.

Lovely car C-J!!

Quick question regarding grilles, I'm thinking of changing mine but cant decide between the tight Chrome mesh Grille p/n:02C2P9190 and the Black mesh grille p/n: 02C2P8121

Just wonder if anyone has a tight closeup of the previously stated Black mesh grille?

Also does anyone know if these grilles were the standard fitting to the limited edition XK60's?

Thanks in advance

Chrome or black depends on the body color and how much chrome you have already on the car IMO. For my seafrost green, only black would do... I went with just the upper grille, I like the stock lower piece.

Ah many thanks Mosesbotbol the mesh really suits your colour car (very nice btw)!!

The Chrome grille looks much more tightly knitted together than the black one, which is quite interesting, but the black looks pretty damn sporty.

I thought the grilles are identical; just different finish?

Does the bumper have to be removed in order to access the mesh grilles?

I disagree with this statement ..... I don't know anyone who buys a car (certainly a jaguar) with any concern for re-sale.... It's a hobby fuelled by passion which can and will include certain modifications that enhance the automobile.... Re sale be dammed I say bring on styling.... You only live once.

As you can it has the XK60 kit on which I don't care for to be honest so its being removed to make way for the 'speed pack' kit. I also have a full quad custom exhaust on the way and if the Mina 2013 XKRS wing is reasonable money I'll have that too.

I was just wondering ... my new front bumper goes into the paint shop tomorrow and I'm not sure what color to have the front grills / mesh painted? My car is liquid Silver so either black, silver /chrome or graphite are my options.

What do you think?

Here is a picture of my new bumper:-

Interesting information here. I was not aware that a 2010-2011 front would fit on a 2007 chassis. Does it also mean that the rear bumper cover is interchangeable also? Nice job and after the paint gets corrected it will be difficult to tell the difference from the 2010-11 series.
