Hi all
I have now had my Stratus Grey coupe for a couple of months and love it!
The only downside is the front spoiler which is ridiculously low for a road car. As a result I am on my third splitter which at £1600 a time is greeting rather pricey.
The power is great. It's the instant grunt that is intoxicating and it reminds me of my sl55 F1 but feels significantly quicker.
I am also amazed how much attention it draws for what I thought was just a jag. When you are inside it it sounds great, but when you are outside it is awesome.
I have just removed fuse number 19 from the fuse box between the rear seats. This basically keep the exhaust valves open. It's really easy to do. Firstly start the car. Then select dynamic mode. Once you have opened the cover you can easily remove the fuse with the fuse holders. You then just have to carefully clip the cover back on and keep the fuse somewhere safe in case you want a quiet ride again. It is not too loud. It just sounds like a sports car and is perhaps why it draws rather a lot of positive attention. The main benefit to this free mod is that it sounds great 27/7 and you don't have a back jarring ride for everyday road use. Give it a go it will take you 10 minutes tops.
Fuel economy is pretty awful but I count it in smiles per miles and on that basis it is pretty good. I mainly drive around town so should not expect much but on a run it is actually not bad.
I have a Mecedes E350 sport estate as my daily car. As much as I like it I find it very difficult to leave the jag in the garage. There is something quite special about going out to the garage in the morning firing her up and taking it to work. After a hard day I can again look forward to my drive back home.
The roads here in Scotland are wet and sloppy and have been since I got the car. In truth I have really not had the chance for a spirited blast in the dry but am really looking forward to it.
Here's a picture when it was at the dealership. Since then I have fitted genuine carbon fibre mirrors which are a nice touch.
All the best

I've got the same color car but I'm in San Francisco so you won't have to worry about pulling up to the identical car at a stop light. Where did you get the CB mirrors? By the way, you can get the same CB splitter from The Mina Gallery, $600! It is the same outside dimensions but thicker. I ordered one just as a backup so I don't have to drive around with a broken splitter for two weeks while the new one is on order.
Cheers, from across the pond!

Which shop are you going to to get the pulley installed? Are you in MD?
Hi, I just bought a 2012 XKR-S in Italian Racing Red. No pictures yet as the car is "FILTHY" from a 2 hour long rain drenched ride home from the dealer.
I will post some once the car is cleaned. It is getting tinted today and I have ordered a Mina exhaust from Chris which I expect to get either tomorrow or on Tuesday for an installation next week. I will most likely get the Eurocharge tune and pulley as they are local.
Below is a dealer picture.

Hi,
I just want to point that I finally got my dream car January 9th: Blue XKR-S 2012 is in my garage! We got some warm days last week, so I tried my new car on the road. All I have to say: wow what a sound and what a powerful engine! It's the best car I've got since I drive. What a beast!
The interior and the exterior are impressive! My M3 now looks so ugly and cheap compared to the xkr-s (specially the interior!).
Now I have to wait till spring to put back that bomb on the roads.
Proud young owner of a blue XKR-S!

I took delivery of my 2013 FRB XKR-S this afternoon! Sorry for the crappy pics. Its dark outside but will shoot some better pics this weekend. Thanks for everyone's input on color and options! I can't wait to get some quality seat time in it...
Yes, the car came with the carbon fiber engine cover. It looks awesome in person. I now have 2 since I had already purchased one for the white XKR-S I was going to purchase before that deal fell through. Perhaps someone here might be interested in it?
Just thought I would tell you guys a funny story that happened to me last week...
For the past few months when I am driving with the top up and radio off (and in dynamic mode, of course), I have heard from time to time what sounded like a slight rattle coming from the front left of the dash area. It sounds very discrete but it is definitely noticeable and very annoying. It was hard to tell but it sounded like it might be coming from either the upper door panel, dash area, tweeter housing, or maybe even the gauge pod...I never could quite pin it down. It would be more pronounced over rough pavement or bumps...So usually at some point it would become annoying enough to turn the radio on and the rattle would virtually vanish since it was so quiet.
Then last week as I was pushing on the dash and tweeter housing to try to find the rattle again, I noticed it stopped...so I put my left hand down in my lap to listen intently while driving with my right hand...and it was gone!...Then I put my left hand back on the wheel and it was back....HMMM...put my left hand down and it was gone...put it back, and sure enough the rattle came back.
Then I realized....This whole time the rattle was coming from my watch, a stainless Submariner.......
It felt great to have fixed the rattle!
LOL

It does not look like anything was ever in mine. In the configurator a "compact" spare is available but it is part of the general, add-on items so it may or may not be for the XKR-S in terms of fitting. You are the second XKR-S owner who confirmed to me that they do not have one so I am pretty confident that there is none from the factory. My Pcars had the tire repair kit in the spot were the spare would go so I just wondered if mine had a spare and somebody used/sold it.

It is offered as an option. I did not have mine, but I got it from a dealer. There is a thread on this forum with part numbers and where to get it.
You'll need spare tire + tool kit.
Using the Jaguar UK "build your XK" facility specifically for the XKR-S model, the spare wheel is listed as an optional extra. Standard fitting is carpeted wheel well and repair kit.

Unlikely this standard provision will be different in other markets unless there are any where a spare wheel is mandatory.
