Are there mud flaps available for the front wheels of the x150 XKR? i have 20" kalimnos and the road rash damage is getting worse on the front wings, It appears a previous owner has already had them repaired at some point in the past. I have had a search online but i can only find universal fit ones and i dont want something awful sticking out of the wings and would much prefer an OEM look
I've seen that some people have purchased the tiny OEM rear flaps and installed them on the front with minimal effort. That my be the sleekest way to accomplish what you want, but they will only protect somewhat.
You could also do something like this, but they are more visually intrusive (but protect much better), OEM but for an X-Type. Would probably work with some slight modification;
I have the standard factory fitted rear splash guards, i see people mention about getting a similar set and modifying them to suit the front arch. I will look into that
Yes i have just read a post with someone else who has done that. That is an option i will look into first
You can apply clear film in that area yourself, its quite easy to do and the material is quite inexpensive.
Look for Orafol stone guard. My confidential cost as a company is $1.06 a sqft by the yard, $.83cents by the roll.
Its good stuff, good enough for what you are doing and easier to apply than others.
You can also apply vinyl wrap if the stone chips are too evident, and apply this film over the wrap.
Not sure I would label them mud flaps if they are in front of the tires, more of an aerodynamic reason for having them I would think. The ones that are in front of the front tires are clearly apart of the front lower splitter.
At one point I did manage the part numbers but there were two issues with purchasing them, the first was providing proof of ownership of a GT and the second was the astronomical cost.
