Default Yet another wheel offset question...

I have a question about wheel offsets. My 2008 XK came with19” Carelia wheels…the offsets are 49 front and 31 rear. I changed those wheelsout with 20” Takoba wheels (from a 2011 XKR)…its offsets are 49 front and 46rear. Both sets of wheels are 8.5” widein the front and 9.5” in the rear.
The wheels fit just fine except that the rears sit in a bittoo much and I’ve concluded that’s because of the offset difference. I didn’tconsider an offset issue and clearly I should have.
After reading several topics on this forum I now know thatthis is an issue when trying to fit MY 2010+ wheels on MY 2007 – 2009 cars. ButI am a bit perplexed as Takoba wheels were available starting in 2009 (standardon the XKR) perhaps the offsets on those wheels were different (?).
There is one ray of hope for my situation, there is mentionon one thread that this situation can be easily corrected by using 20mm spaceson the rears. (It must compensate for the difference between a 31 and 46 offset.)
All said, (1) can anyone confirm this ‘20mm spacer’statement, and (2) recommend a good retailer for quality spacers.
Thanks…Mark

I'm sure that wheel spacers will probably solve your problem, however.....

Please be sure to get Hubcentric wheel spacers for safety, these have a recess which locates onto the hub and a lip for the wheel to locate on to.
In the event you were to fit just plain 20mm spacers the wheels are then held entirely on the bolts alone and can result in serious wheel wobble or much worse.

If you do go down this route, HUBCENTRIC are the way to go.
Try checking them out on Ebay or similar, bearing in mind 4 or 5 stud and the correct pcd for your car

Good luck

The 2010+ XKR has an electronic diff which makes the rear axle wider than a 4.2 XK/XKR or 5.0 XK. That's why the offset on those Takobas is different.
