Default acceleration problem

car xk140 rhd 1956 1 3/4" carbs will start run stationair, choke switches off, keeps running nicely but when accelerating the engine stays idle and does not pick up a higher rpm, when i lift the pisons manually it will increase in rpm. (fuel pump issue, low pressure, pistons and suction chamber failure....) please help
