Default Shot in the dark

OK - First a back story - My father passed away when I was 4 (1974) so I never knew much about his early life. I found a pic of my fathers 1951 XK120 from the late 50's (with my 2 sisters). beautiful red with the rear wheel covers on. (never knew he owned one) Anyways, of course I would like to try and see if it's still around. I know he gave it to my brother (who also passed away many years ago) my brother did sell it to a person in Michigan (I would guess in the early sixties). What I was wondering is there a way to maybe start to track this car down? I don't have any more info than that but I know some of you guys have a great amount of history on your cars.. One story my family did have on this car is that (my father being an engineer) he built a fiberglass hard top for it so he could drive it in the rain... Long shot I know but I have to try! Thanks for any help!
