Default XK120 Serial Number Tag Restoration

Our 1953 XK120 DHC has the serial number tag painted over. Can anyone recommend a source to restore the tag and provide proper rivets to reinstall it?

Tags Backeast, Trim Tags Backeast, Data Plates, A.G.Backeast. We make tags for AMC, Buick, Cadillac, Camaro, Chevelle, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Corvette, Dodge, DeSoto, Edsel, Ford, Frazer, La Salle, Henry J, Kaiser, Lincoln, Mercury, Mustang, Oldsmobile

You might contact this guy. I've forgotten his name, but I used him once. Very quick turnaround on my little project and it was absolutely perfect. Plus he provided the little rosette rivets.

If you can't find a restorer, this UK company specialises in replacement chassis and other plates and includes the XK120 in their range:

www.classicrepro.co.uk/JaguarDaimler.htm

They can arrange for the correct numbers to be stamped on the plate.

I also have an XK-120. The manual says the chassis number is "stamped on the chassis left-hand side member bracket to rear of twin exhaust down pipes". I've scrubbed 65 years of crud off of the area where the chassis number is supposed to be and I can find nothing. This thread suggests PAINT can cover it up. I CAN see paint, but then it says that the number is stamped on, and the paint, what there is left, isnt' that thick.
Can anyone help me with this? The car is in a remote area without water or electricity. I'm only looking at the top of the frame because I can't lift it, or choose not to unless I learn that the number is on the side or bottom of the chassis rail. Anybody know?
